Farmingdale State College Spring 2022 Nursing Program

Hi guys, I am currently a student at Farmingdale under the STS major. I plan on applying for the Advanced Standing Nursing Program in Spring 2021. I have not seen a thread for Spring 2021 so thought I would make one. Everyone can write their stats, TEAS scores, GPA, questions, and any concerns about the program on here. Hopefully this helps everyone out!

We should call the nursing information department and confirm.

HELP GUYS! Does anyone know if you can apply to the program with below a 75? I got a 72 on my TEAS and have a 3.88 GPA overall and for my prerequisites. Do I even have a chance if I apply? Can I even apply?

I believe so, but if I were you, I would watch the mometrix TEAS videos online and retake it virtually by Thursday. I watched the videos for 1 day and scored a 86. 

Either way, apply. You have nothing to lose.

I believe they said in the seminar you can apply but the avg grades accepted are above 76 or something like that. Can u re take it like tomorrow? Before the 15th?

Don't you have to wait like 30 days before taking it again? I just took it today so I have to wait another 30 days which is gonna be past the deadline. I guess im gonna have to apply next year?

I think you should still apply. Your GPA is still really good so should make up for the points missed on the TEAS. You've got nothing to lose

Def apply. My TEAS scores are only 84. Pre req GPA 3.8 and overall 3.5. It's all about applicant pool.

Do you know if they care if we waited 30 days? And If I send them both scores will they still take my 1st one? 

Anyone know if they care if wait 30 days or not? I got a 72 on my TEAS and really want to take it again. But I am afraid they might no count it.

This is what I found on their website for the Advanced Standing Program.

“TEAS scores must be provided by deadline

TEAS exam scores of 75 or higher will be considered for admission

Students may take the exam two times in a calendar year and must wait a minimum of 30 days in between tests.”

I just took mine today. Is it worth it to take it again anyways? I sent them my score but I guess they still haven't received it. So should I just take it again and see.

I really don’t know, but from what I see on the website, you must wait at least 30 days before taking it again. I think your best bet is to give them a call tomorrow and see what your options are.
