Farmingdale State College Spring 2022 Nursing Program

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi guys, I am currently a student at Farmingdale under the STS major. I plan on applying for the Advanced Standing Nursing Program in Spring 2021. I have not seen a thread for Spring 2021 so thought I would make one. Everyone can write their stats, TEAS scores, GPA, questions, and any concerns about the program on here. Hopefully this helps everyone out!

I am not sure how to reply to a specific comment so I'm sorry if my post are all over the place. I just finished the TEAS test with an 86%

My GPA is a 4.0 for both running and pre-reqs. I will put in my application tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

Your grades are awesome! You are definitely going to be accepted.

Thank you! I hope so!

Has anyone asked the admissions office how any seats there will be available this year?

When I went to the seminar they said 50

I submitted mine through the Common App. I found it more user friendly than the SUNY App. I called their admissions department a few days later to make sure they received the app, my transcript, and TEAS score. They confirmed they did and said we should know by mid November. I don't think it's a bad idea to talk to someone at Farmingdale to confirm if you want. They also had a really good virtual nursing info session I attended about month ago.

Hey! How did you submit your letters of recommendations?

I honestly didn't submit any. I guess I should? Seems like a lot of people are.

You submit through the RAM portal.

Hola! I logged into the portal and there is a drop down to upload documents.

I was talking to an advisor today and he said the application is purely only GPA and TEAS score. They don't consider any recommendation letters, internships or clinical hours.

I just submitted my application today and I received a confirmation. I also talked to my advisor today and he said my GPA is competitive. He said they look for a 3.7 even though the brochure says a 3.2. So I am a little confused as to if he just misread something or if they put the wrong GPA requirement. Can anyone confirm what the GPA requirement actually is?

That’s interesting, it seems people are getting different information. When I attended the virtual nursing info session the guy said to send it anything and everything to help your chances including personal statements, letters etc. Who knows.
