Farmingdale State College Spring 2022 Nursing Program

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi guys, I am currently a student at Farmingdale under the STS major. I plan on applying for the Advanced Standing Nursing Program in Spring 2021. I have not seen a thread for Spring 2021 so thought I would make one. Everyone can write their stats, TEAS scores, GPA, questions, and any concerns about the program on here. Hopefully this helps everyone out!

I found an online GPA calculator and I believe it will be around a 3.9 depending on how many credits each A is worth ect.

Okay thanks. also how are you taking your TEAS exam. Are you taking the online version or in person?

how did you guys send the application in? I am a little confused on that part do I have to talk to my advisor at Farmingdale?

The application is all online. Then you have your transcripts etc mailed to them. Once u apply u get access to the RAM portal so you can see what they've received.

Thank you. I am already a student at Farmingdale and I actually need to just switch into the program. So I think they already have my transcripts and stuff. Do you know how to apply if your already a student? And can I submit my grades now and then add my TEAS score when I take the TEAS?

Yea there's 2 separate applications. One for transfers and one for current students. Also, the day you take the TEAS you put what school u want the transcripts sent to. They send em electronically.

I submitted mine through the Common App. I found it more user friendly than the SUNY App. I called their admissions department a few days later to make sure they received the app, my transcript, and TEAS score. They confirmed they did and said we should know by mid November. I don't think it's a bad idea to talk to someone at Farmingdale to confirm if you want. They also had a really good virtual nursing info session I attended about month ago.

Good luck! From what I remember, and I could be wrong, there are 50 seats available and they receive about 450 applicants. But they said only about 1/3 of applicants make it through the entire application process. I guess people are disqualified if they don't meet the minimum requirements. So on the bright side that increases our odds.

Oh really I thought you couldn’t apply if you didn’t have the minimum requirements. good to know. and thank you I have been studying really hard for the TEAS. Hopefully I get a good score. How did you do on the TEAS and does it matter if we take the online version or the in person version?

It doesn’t matter if you take it remotely from home or go to a testing center. Like someone else said, just make sure you choose Farmingdale as your program so they get the scores automatically. And again, I would definitely call after you submit your app to make sure they have everything.

I did OK, scored a 78. Disappointed because I missed advanced by two points ugh. My prerequisite GPA is a 3.9, and my overall GPA is right at 3.0 because it includes classes I took twenty years ago when I was a poor student. To be honest, I don’t think I have a great shot at getting in, but you never know what the candidate pool looks like. I also submitted recommendation letters and a personal statement so I hope that helps.

Thank you! Fingers crossed for all of us!

I am not sure how to reply to a specific comment so I'm sorry if my post are all over the place. I just finished the TEAS test with an 86%

My GPA is a 4.0 for both running and pre-reqs. I will put in my application tomorrow. Fingers crossed.
