Farmingdale BS Advanced Standing Program - Spring 2021

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey guys!

I didn't see a thread started for Farmingdale's Advanced Standing Program. I wanted to see if there is anyone already preparing to apply for their Spring 2021 semester. I'm starting my application now.

Side note: Does anyone know if Farmingdale prefers/requires letters of recommendation, resume, or any additional documents (aside from official transcripts and TEAS score)??

Hi! I haven’t started the application yet, but I am applying for Spring 2021 nursing program. I did see on the website it lists letters of recommendation, resume, and personal statement as “recommended documents”. I am not sure if there’s a place on the application to upload those forms.

Hey Danielle,

I wouldn’t worry about it. I was wondering the same thing so I emailed the nursing department. they told me “We will not need letter of recommendation or personal statements. Just your transcripts and TEAS exam score.”

Awesome! Thank you so much! Good luck!

Hey guys!

I'm currently in the Farmingdale nursing program and graduating next December. I know how crazy and stressful this can all be. If you guys have any questions let me know! I would be happy to help! ?

Hey!

I applied and submitted all documents needed to apply for Spring 2021 nursing program. I currently go to NCC so they emailed me a login info with a RAM id so I can see what they received so for as well as the status of the application.

I like it! The professors are really wonderful and I’ve def learned a lot so far. Things have obviously been different because of the show COVID thing, so all of our classes are online except clinical. It’s been an adjustment from the in person classes we’ve been doing but overall, I like the program. My overall TEAS score was like 84.  Most of my prereqs were As and A-s but my GPA was awful (took college classes right outta high school years ago, didn’t care yadda yadda) I will say the TEAS are heavily weighted and the prereq classes (A&P, stats, English, etc) are weighted heavily as well.

OK that’s great to hear! My overall GPA isn’t the best either. (Due to the same reason you stated) I have a 3.48 but I made sure I got all A’s on my prereqs, with my prereq GPA being 4.0. Only one I didn't take yet is Patho. Thanks for the feedback though. I really appreciate it!

Hey,

Did anyone submit their high school transcript? I plan on transferring from Nassau CC & when I called FSC admissions to make sure they received my NCC transcript (it was showing as not received on the portal) she told me I should also submit my high school transcript

Hi! I submitted my high school transcript. I was under the impression it was required.

I didn’t submit my high school transcript. I wasn’t sure we needed to? Or does it depend your situation? I attended farmingdale two years ago and have a degree from them already. I just sent over unofficial transcripts from colleges I’ve taken prereqs at.

(considering I went to farmingdale already  I assume they might have my high transcript anyway)
