Farmingdale BS Advanced Standing Program - Spring 2021

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey guys!

I didn't see a thread started for Farmingdale's Advanced Standing Program. I wanted to see if there is anyone already preparing to apply for their Spring 2021 semester. I'm starting my application now.

Side note: Does anyone know if Farmingdale prefers/requires letters of recommendation, resume, or any additional documents (aside from official transcripts and TEAS score)??

I didn’t submit my high school transcript. I wasn’t sure we needed to? Or does it depend your situation? I attended farmingdale two years ago and have a degree from them already. I just sent over unofficial transcripts from colleges I’ve taken prereqs at.

(considering I went to farmingdale already  I assume they might have my high transcript anyway)

Yeah, they prob already have it on file. I just called my HS so they can send it over electronically.

Hi! I submitted my high school transcript. I was under the impression it was required.

On the portal I saw it said optional but I guess they want to make sure applicants completed the Chemistry regents in HS if they didn't take a college level one.

Hi everyone! I submitted my application a few weeks ago and just found this thread, best of luck to you all! ?

Happy deadline day! I spoke to admissions yesterday to confirm that my application was complete and they let me know that decisions would be sent out the first week of November.

Fingers crossed for everyone applying!

I'm so nervous. I wasn't planning on submitting an application for next term but decided if not now then when.

I registered for my TEAS this past Sunfay. Took it on Tuesday and had my application completed by Wednesday.

It's been a roller coaster of emotions the past few days but I'm so excited I took  this step forward!

Now the waiting....is it November yet? Haha

Hi Everyone,

I also applied to the advanced standing program and I'm curious to know how competitive the scores will be this year, specifically pertaining to the TEAS...I saw that the last years program accepted a student with a TEAS score of 75, but the 2017 year declined someone who got a 78...trying to understand that. How was everyone's TEAS? I got a 79, have a 3.9 average for prereqs and 3.8 average for overall GPA.

Hi! My prereq GPA is around a 3.5 and cumulative is 3.4. I got a 90.7% on the TEAS.

does anyone know the acceptance rate for this program ? do they take the personal statement and recommendation letters into consideration?

hey,

thanks for the responses, super helpful to see the chance of acceptance!

Not sure of the acceptance rate, but there are usually 500 applicants for the advanced standing program and 50 seats! They go soley by grades and the TEAS!

40% = pre req GPA

30%= TEAS

30%= overall GPA
