I am new here and I just have a couple of questions about FAMU's nursing program. I have an AA from BCC pre nursing,now I am currently attending FIU taking 2 classes. I am applying for the spring semester, I already got into the school now I amj ust getting everything together for the nursing program. So, if you applied to that school and got in please reply back to this. Here are my question
1) I know we have to set up an interview but im confused, do I need to do that before the deadline for the nursing application, or after?
2) Ihave the 3 letters of recommendation but I read somewhere on here that we need to write an essay too. I dont recall that.
my g.p.a. was a 3.3 when I applied so I know it's gonna be kind of hard for me...I know the program is highly competitive but I'm hoping that with my essay I can express to the committee how much I really want this and how determined I am to be successful in this program. My teachers and mentors also wrote pretty good letters of recommendations for me also so hopefully that will help as well. I ultimately want to become a pediatric nurse practioner...I love kids =)...what areas of nursing are you guys gearing towards?
I wonder what day they actually call you if you got accepted..because the email said the decision would be made AFTER aug 12th...but I mean i wonder like if they might call you on that actual day.. I was reading some of apotters previous posts and I believe she found out on the 12th exactly..and do any of you guys work as a CNA right now..because I was thinking that would probably be a plus if you were able to put that on your application too...
thanks for the encouragement so hopeful..I really do appreciate it...I just feel like right now I need an opportunity to prove myself..becuase it's so many people depending on me to be successful you know....
Arielle I talked to the nursing adviser this morning and she said it was most likely going to be after August 12th when they began to call people with the results. You can call Dr. Mccoy and ask her any questions you have. She is very helpful. She made me feel a little less stressed after I called her this morning!
