Hi,
I am new here and I just have a couple of questions about FAMU's nursing program. I have an AA from BCC pre nursing, now I am currently attending FIU taking 2 classes. I am applying for the spring semester, I already got into the school now I amj ust getting everything together for the nursing program. So, if you applied to that school and got in please reply back to this. Here are my question
1) I know we have to set up an interview but im confused, do I need to do that before the deadline for the nursing application, or after?
2) Ihave the 3 letters of recommendation but I read somewhere on here that we need to write an essay too. I dont recall that.
3) Do we need to get a background check too?

i am in the same boat you are in right now, i received my a.a degree from bcc (now bc) and i am currently @ fiu and taking college algebra and a few other classes. also, i am applying for spring 2010 and i have everything else except i am waiting on my transcripts. but i did not know that you have to set up an interview with the famu program?
That is so cool I am at FIU right now too. But I called the nursing school (FAMU's) and the lady told me not to worry about if you get into the school then they'll ask you for an interview. Did you get an xray done? if yes, where at?
so do you must have all the classes to apply what if your missing a few like english 2, speech, but you have all your science class, maths, and social science....can you still apply and what exactly is the steps to apply ?
We needed to get an x-ray done I just received lab work done. But I do know peoplevwith TB need a x-ray done
I applied to FAMU for fall but was not able to take college algebra after i applied so my application was denied because of college algebra and my medical form was incomplete. So this time i called them while i was at the doctor's office to make i had everything i needed but i don't remember them asking did i have my x-ray checked unless i had TB, which i don't. Since I applied for fall of 2009 they still have my file from before so they already have my recommendation letters so all i have to send in is the application, transcripts, essay (im going to redo it), and my new medical form.
I pray i get in, even though, we will not find out until 2 weeks before the program starts but i believe its all going to work out. Also, i applied to BC nursing program and fro Mcfatter's LPN program

Ok cool I hope I get in 2. Not everyone I have to do the x-ray. But I have to because of where I was born. I have a question. Did you take 2 years of foreign languages? If you took it in High School how did you submit it to FAMU?Did they take the information off of your high school transcript that you sent to the University? Or did you have to specifically send it to the nursing department? Get back ASAP thanks
i sent it in with my high school transcripts, thats how they received it and on the famu application i said yes saying i have 2 yrs of forign language
Alright cool. Do you know where you are going to live if you get accepted into the program? I am looking for a roommate just in case i get in.
I was thinking about staying off campus @ this apartment place that takes financial aid (its many apartments like this in Tally, where u won't have to worry about if the other person did not pay rent b/c it does not affect you, its called individual lease and u are able to pay through financial aid). I'm going to stay with my cousin (who is a pharm major) in a three bedroom so yea if you are interested and I get in
Cool I was also thinking about somewhere that is off campus. I did do some research on the apartments up there so we'll stay in touch regarding this matter.Do you know exactly which one she lives in (name of the complex) so i could look it up myself. Thank you
