Hey Everyone,
I'm not new to this site, just new to actually joining and posting my own story since I myself am finally able to began the application process of applying to Wake Tech next Fall. Anyone else out there applying?
EmilyNicole91, so sorry to bog you down with so many questions. Did the program require students to get a Hepatitis B titer or if you had record of your Hep B vaccine series they accepted that..? I know students can do a titer if they're not sure if they had the Hep B series, but I know some programs require students to do a titer even if they have proof of vaccination just to see how immune they are. If their immunity is low they have to do a second series.
You're fine! I don't mind answering questions. But our cards are the current ones. Mrs. Smith sent me a picture of what they should look like and ours looks exactly like it. You don't have to get a titer. You have three options for the hep b documentation. If you have had the vaccinations you can upload those records. If you have gotten a titer and it showed you had immunity you can upload that. For those who haven't had the vaccines and do not want them you can sign a waiver. Hepatitis B is the only immunization you can sign a waiver on.
I haven't worked as a cna. I took the course through wake tech. I am thinking about trying to work as one during the summer and then on the weekends once I am in the program. I think the hands on experience would be great to have. I haven't asked again about my alternate status. I am dying to but I don't want to annoy her. I am going to try to hold out until June to ask again. I was hoping there would be more alternates on here and we could take turns lol.
Have any current Wake Tech students ever had to submit an appeal to financial aid because you were told you had exceeded or were close to exceeding the maximum timeframe allowed for your degree? Curious as to how long it takes to hear back from the committee and how lenient they are with the approvals...

EmilyNicole91, I took my course at Triangle CPR as well. I asked them about the e-cards and they said that their program does not give those out. Apparently not all programs do. I am assuming BLS Provider course completion card we received then is sufficient for the CPR requirement...?
