Fall 2016 Wake Tech Applicants

Published

Hey Everyone,

I'm not new to this site, just new to actually joining and posting my own story since I myself am finally able to began the application process of applying to Wake Tech next Fall. Anyone else out there applying?

CN_2bRN919 I can't remember exactly what the letter said but it had my full name and member ID on it. If you called and asked for a letter showing proof of coverage you would get the same letter as me bc the person I spoke to said there was only one thing she could send me. As for how often I am not sure. Most insurances send out new cards at the beginning of the year. But you will have to have yours uploaded before that. I am sure that is something they would address at orientation.

Jpeters247 that is funny! I work in a pharmacy and have also taken medical science classes in high school so I am familiar with most on the list as well. However, there were some I wasn't so I'll be making flash cards on those!

I was curious because most policies run Jan-Dec. If spring start students start in January but have to upload that information before then, more than likely our insurance information is going to be a little different whenever the actual semester starts. Plus on my verification letter, it says my termination date (12/2016). I guess it makes the most sense to upload the information anytime it changes. If clinical starts January 2017 (for spring start), we could upload it before then, but most people would be uploading new stuff RIGHT before clinical starts... ??

Emily girlfriend! It looks like in section 4302 there's still 17 people playing games with registration, lol. I hope your in the number, matter-of-fact, I know you're in the number, lol.

I know! I wish people would either register or decline their seats. There are people waiting on those seats! I check it all the time lol. Thank you for being so optimistic for me. Every day I get a little less optimistic. It is so stressful! I had to turn in my availability change at work because they make the schedules so far out. It is going to be awkward being like, never mind :(

It's funny you said that you'll feel a little awkward if things end up changing in the end. I'm feeling the same way with everyone at my job rooting for me and actually hiring someone later on this year WHEN not IF I move on for Spring 2017. However, its totally natural to feel that way. At church my Pastor said to us that it's the will of God to have disappointments and some times a little egg on our face. And I believe that to be true. Not all things are going to work out and are meant to work out. BUT oh man when they do, in God's timing, for His name sake He will give us the victory and all will be well. I have this little sermon that was preached to us posted on my computer screen. It's been really helpful in waiting and not be weary!

Be strong in the LORD and in the power of His might. Put on strength. Put on strength in waiting, strength is to sit still and wait. We may not have evidence, but we have confidence!

Yes I'm a Christian if you haven't noticed, lol. Hang in there Emily

Beautifully put! I emailed Mrs. Sutton about uniforms and whether she thought I should order one or not. I told her last I heard I was alternate number 3. She said she had two more declines and I should soon be alternate number 1! :x3:

I'm like jumping up and down as if I am number one! This is great! Yea girl.... Get yo scrubs!

EmilyNicole91... (or someone who may remember when she mentioned it in the past) can you remind me of how many points you had when you applied in the fall and what alternate number you originally were? I vaguely remember 11? Not sure though..

I had 158 points and I was alternate 11.

I'm glad I picked up some extra classes and waited to apply, because if I would have applied back in January, I would still have been on the waiting list since I only would have had 156 points. I also didn't finish my CNA requirement until May, so I wouldn't have been able to apply anyway. I'm sure if I had done everything and applied in January, I still would have been somewhere between around 4 or 5 on the waiting list. It's crazy how close the points are. 162 would get you right in, but 161 would put you on the waiting list. 158 (which is not that far from 162) put you at number 11. Oyyyyyy! So glad you're getting closer and closer to getting a seat!! :)

CN_2bRN919 how many points did you have when you put in your application? I'm finishing up my Cna next week and then I will take the state board. How hard was the test?

After I took two more classes in the spring, I now have 186. I added BIO 155 with an A (in order to replace my SOC 210 with a B). I also added PSY 241 with an A. The state exam was not hard at all. I took my CNA course at WTCC and tested at WTCC, so I was familiar with the lab setup. I was less nervous than I anticipated on exam day. I went to open lab several times a week up until the exam since there was about 6 weeks between when my class ended and when I actually took my test. Good luck to you! Praying you get simple skills!
