Hey Everyone,
I'm not new to this site, just new to actually joining and posting my own story since I myself am finally able to began the application process of applying to Wake Tech next Fall. Anyone else out there applying?
Just curious... how long after the information session do students have to complete their drug testing, physical, and background check? When is that information due for students starting fall 2016?[/quoteHey! As far as the [information session], nothing is due until you're accepted or become an alternate. I'm not sure when it's due, AFTER [orientation] and you've been accepted and/or given an alternate seat. I've read before that it's like a 2-4 week window to have all requirements complete, or you forfeit your seat.
Laila34, yes, students have to have two TB tests. One within 12 months of the start of clinical and the other within 12 months of the first TB test. I did one back in the fall and may go ahead and do another this summer so it will be one less thing I have to do.
Could anyone who is an alternate chime in on this? EmilyNicole91... how long do you all have to complete all of the clinical site requirements after orientation? 30 days? What is your deadline? Is the deadline different if your an alternate versus students who already have a seat, or does everyone have the same deadline?
So due dates went:
April 15th: orientation and background check due
April 29th: drug test due
May 13th: all Immunizations done and uploaded to verified credentials. Also cpr certification, physical, and copy of insurance card must be completed and uploaded as well.
I have everything done but my cpr certification and 2nd tb test. I am getting my 2nd tb test tomorrow and I have my cpr class tomorrow. I emailed her a week ago and let her know I was going to be a couple of days late with those things. She said as long as I had most of my stuff completed then that was fine. So they are understanding if you are a little behind. However, I would recommend getting all your stuff together so you don't have to stress about it like I did.
Another thing is apparently they have changed the cpr cards as of last year or maybe it was this year. She emailed me and told me to make sure my class was giving out the newest cards. It has to be AHA BLS and whatever their newest card is.
