Fall 2016 Wake Tech Applicants

Published

Hey Everyone,

I'm not new to this site, just new to actually joining and posting my own story since I myself am finally able to began the application process of applying to Wake Tech next Fall. Anyone else out there applying?

I am waiting it out with you. A class I took and got an A in I thought would count for my humanities. But they took my B class instead. So instead of 161 points I have 158. I am alternate numed 11. I wish I would've taken the teas again. I made an 80 which is 1 point shy of the 12 points. If I had gotten the 12 points I would've had 164 points and not stressing. Anyways, I still think we have a shot so I am going to do all my stuff and be ready just in case.

EmilyNicole91, I wonder why they didn't use your humanities course with an A? What kind of course was it? Was it too old? I didn't think there was an age limit on humanities. Keep your head up! You too APeregoy! You guys have plenty of time to still get in, although it is stressful to not know until the last minute!

EmilyNicole91 you can talk to them about that and you should get accepted. They said that they can make mistakes that they overlook sometimes.

It was a social psychology course and for some reason I thought it was on the list of accepted courses. I am trying to stay positive but this is going to be a stressful wait. I already emailed Mrs. Watkins lol. I was curious if that number took in to consideration the people who declined. I also asked would we be alerted when our number changed and on average how many alternates usually get accepted.

Lol Emily I emailed her too! I wanted to know if all the people who declined seats had already had those spots filled or if there were open seats! She hasn't emailed me back yet though

You guys I'm curious on how you feel.

1-what did you think was easier, anatomy one or anatomy two?

2-Was it because the material was easier or was it that your teacher was better?

I felt like ap2 was "easier" only because it focused on whole systems and was more interesting. ap1 has tissues & mitosis (along with other stuff of course) which is easy but boring to me. I liked ap2 better...but both are easy i thought...I just liked covering whole systems and what makes them work.

My AP 1 was much, much easier.

AP 2 was when I really learned to study. I didn't have to do much other than memorization up to that point. Even though it was harder, I feel I learned a lot more.

My instructors for both were so different.

Thanks, and I agree anp2 to me was way more interesting and I enjoyed it more. I hated the bones and muscle chapters.

Does anyone know how to tell if your records have been approved by verified credentials? I've submitted documents and it just shows that section as complete, it doesn't say waiting for review or anything. Do they just message you if something is wrong?

I also applied to Vance Granville because it's close to my house. I think I'm going to be a lot more competitive there. If I don't get in, then yes I'll apply for spring. I'm taking A&P2 now so Id be able to add those points and retake the teas. I took the teas when it was 71% equals 50 pts so that's the only other thing I could do to increase points[/quote

Hi Leahearman! I'm also considering applying to VGCC! It's closer to me also and I just want to have a back up school. Do you know what their competitive points are? I saw how they calculate their points but mine seem low compared to wake tech's system..lol! How many points do you have??

Best of luck!
