Hey Everyone,
I'm not new to this site, just new to actually joining and posting my own story since I myself am finally able to began the application process of applying to Wake Tech next Fall. Anyone else out there applying?
22bebe I wish you the best. Gotgifts3 microbiology didn't count for me and that is a nice chunk of points. I know several of my CNA classmates will apply in Spring so if we all get in then I'd have an abundance of study partners. Maybe it was meant to work out this way for me. Everything happens for a reason. The current/former Nursing students that gave a speech today has driven me to work hard. I felt excited as if I was in the program, but I'm positive I won't be for Fall at least :)
-APeregoy I basically know I wont get in unless over 35+ students give up their spot.
-bgo26 thanks so much, I wish you the best also.
The major thing for me is that, I took A&P1 over the summer, A&P 2 in the fall and Micro along with a whole other course load and didn't get the A's I wanted. Not to mention taking the teas and doing my CNA stuff within 6 months. Next time I will NEVER do that many things in one short time frame.
Right now I feel like it was all for nothing. If they kept the 50 teas points I think we would have gotten in.
161-141 and 48 alternates is an unbelievably slim point pool.
Im just sad lol.
I have 143 not 149 as I thought before I redid my calculations. So 143 + 18 (microbiology) would have put me at 161. Acceptance this fall. But I will retake the TEAS as well so another 6,12,or 20pts for Spring. I was sick as a dog when I took the TEAS this year so I rushed to get out, got no points but I knew that even if I didn't pass I could apply for fall. I just didn't think about points while I was trying to stay alive during the test.
I don't have an actual schedule since I'm still an alternate. Basically though there are two groups. Group A is Monday-Friday 8-12:30. Group B is 8-12:30 every day except Wednesday which is 1-4:30. Then once they start clinicals two days a week (about week 8) one set (could be from A or B) will have clinicals I think Thursday and Friday 6:45-12:45 and the other set will be 1:30-7:30. Just because you are group B doesn't mean you will have night clinicals and just because you're group A doesn't mean you'll have morning clinicals.
All ll I can do now is do all of my requirements and hope to hear some news in like a month! I hate no other alternates are waiting it out on here with me. But I know you all will be great in spring and won't have to worry about being an alternate!
Lol you're too nice bgo26...I can stress on my own I guess haha no need for all of us to!
CPhillips...I heard that about the 6 people but it sounded like they were going to work with them on getting it done so they could still continue. I also think they accepted 4 of the alternates today (the 4 names they called out before picking up class schedules) and if so, that would make me alternate 10. All the information they gave out is okay with me lol I've already been practicing med calcs before today...I just want to know if I'm in or not...so it's going to be a long wait.

bgo26...I hope so too...but we'll see. I'm going to make sure I do everything I need to. Bebe22 are you not going to keep trying for the fall? The students basically said what you'd think..that it's a great program a lot of hard work, make sure you study, and it's so worth it.
what alternates are going to keep trying?
