Fall 2016 Wake Tech Applicants

Hey Everyone,

I'm not new to this site, just new to actually joining and posting my own story since I myself am finally able to began the application process of applying to Wake Tech next Fall. Anyone else out there applying?

CN_2bRN919 when I took the accuplacer it was math reading and English. You had to get a certain score for each one. If you already had English 111 and 112 and chemistry then you had to pass it.

Thanks for the advice WSMom,CNA and gotgifts3. I was hoping that I would have the option just to take the math portion as I do not need that other sections. I'll have to do some research. I'm starting to lean more toward using the math class that I have (since it's still valid) and if I do not get into the program for spring 2017, then I'll take the Accuplacer this fall so I can apply again in January.

Found out something new today. They are actually changing the math requirement after the Spring 2017 cycle. Effective Fall 2017, math has to be within five years of the application deadline, not five years from when clinical starts. So I guess that rules out me taking the Accuplacer this summer since my math is now good for both Spring 2017 and Fall 2017. Woot!!

It's going to work out for us all! I honestly can't wait until we all submit our applications. Can 2bRN, you're totally slidding in with your points. Hoping my 159 slides me on also. Really don't want to retake a class this summer. Have any of you seen the classes that have been posted for the summer. I'm so ready for this TEAS been studying so hard.

Jpeters247 I wish you the best!! I looked at the summer classes. They don't have any evening classes. I'm going to have to wait until fall for AP2. We should all celebrate when we all get in. This has been the most challenging journey for me. I'm ready to just be a nurse. I'm not getting any younger. Lol

What kind of nursing are you all interested in?

I think I would like Cardiac CC/ICU, PICU, or even a plastic surgery nurse in a doctors office if I want to slow down when I get older, or even a nurse researcher.

Yes! I can't wait for all of us to submit our application too! I'm thinking of taking the hybrid online Microbiology. The seated class for Micro has terrible hours.

Hey gotgift! I just realized that we both are taking the same classes, HUM115 and SOC 210. That sociology class is the pits, it drives me up the wall. However HUM is going great. Thankfully I've already taken Nutrition as well with a B. Either one Mrs. Watkins can choose to use for that class, however, HUM 115 pulling an A, totally excited about. With 3-4 weeks to go, how is everything going in your class? Have you seen the schedule for BIO 169 this summer?

Hi Jpeters247!! I agree Soc sucks. I don't know what she wants in these assignments. I thought it would be a fairly easy class. Hum. Is awesome except this genus and differentia stuff. I'm kinda confused. I looked at Bio 169 and nothing is offered in the evening. I'm hoping with all hope my bio 168 teacher comes back. He was amazzzzing!!! Who did you have for Bio. 168? Are you applying in July?
