Fall 2011 UT Houston Health Sciences hopefuls

Published

I am a ut houston hopeful applying for the pacesetter and traditional programs for fall 2011! I will be done with my pre-req's: engl 1302 and hist 1302 this spring 2011. I plan on taking the hesi the beginning of December since the deadline for ut-houston has been changed to Jan 15. 2011. I wish everybody good luck as were getting down to the wire!!1 Anyone else out there?

Haha, chaos your making me nervous. I put everything on UT-H, didn't apply anywhere else..

I didn't apply anywhere else either! I can't stand the waiting game its killing me, probably even worse because I don't have a backup plan. I wanted to just do the best I could, keep my GPA perfect, and get into my first choice school. LOL hopefully that thinking process wasn't too idealistic.

Ktay, those were my thoughts exactly. Maybe it is slightly idealistic, but imho it shows a high level of commitment. Also, it takes a lot to put yourself out there for what you really want. Hopefully admissions will feel the same.

chaos0058: lucky! I would love to shadow a CRNA! If anyone is interested in the program - we have to maintain out badass GPA while in SON to qualify.

That would be cool! I'm just stamping charts, making packets etc but after putting in more time I'm gonna ask to do some shadowing.

BTW, to those who only applied to UT: you saved a buttload of money! I had to take both HESI and the TEAS and send scores everywhere, send multiple transcripts to each SON, and pay tons of app fees. $Cha-CHING.$ Seriously.

Lol Soooo I finally got a transcript evaluation in the mail today... of course I was expecting an interview letter instead but at least I know they worked on my file :lol2:

Chaos I feel your pain lol I spent lots of money on TEAS and HESI, multiple transcripts and app fees but of course my first choice is definitely UT....

Does anybody have any advice or suggestions on housing near the SON? I'm not familiar with Houston.

Does anybody have any additional info (other than what's on the website)on the Pacesetter program? Anybody found someone who's currently enrolled who's shared their experiences?

Specializes in CVICU.

So combined with getting the mail and finding no interview letter and looking through the Sports Illustrated bikini magazine, I'm feeling pretty depressed and anxious.

Why aren't the letters being sent out?

There's what 6 weeks til April 1st-that's when they make their final decisions.

Sigh, I'm having trouble with waiting and with staying focused and motivated in these darn classes I'm taking now. Who wants to take chemistry for fun? -I'm taking it for UT-I'd be more motivated if I had some hope.

ugh.:uhoh3:

reachin4thestars,

I'm getting really anxious too! I received an e-mail today from UTH admissions, and I thought was an e-mail invite for an interview. Needless to say I got really excited, but when I opened it up I saw that it was just a response to a question I asked ages ago (back in December!). womp womp womp

I'm not very familiar with that area, but I know that UTH does have housing for students; however, I've heard that it can be kinda hard to get.

Here's the link to the housing website: http://ae.uth.tmc.edu/housing/index.html

Wish I could be of more help! :/

Hey everyone, I'm applying to UT Houston for the Fall 2011 class and I called one of the admissions counselors to check up on my application. I was informed that they will not be performing interviews for the Fall 2011 class. Apparently, they are changing the application process up a bit which I'm not sure is a good thing. Let me know if anyone else has heard this too.

i applied to a few other schools too, and yeahhh that money does all add up :((((( i hope i get into houston tho. where else did u apply??

Hey guys. I'm not an applicant but my sister in law is currently in the program at UT. She was told they will no longer hold interviews. This is the first round of applicants that will get chosen based on GPA and Hesi scores. I think they are still trying to figure out a proper system to fairly evaluate everyone. Hope that eases some stress about checking the mail every day. She said they are saying hopefully to have acceptance/ denials ready by the end of March.
