Hey everyone! I applied to UT houston and I'm waiting to hear if I got an interview. Applicants for years in the past started threads that everyone went to and kept everyone updated on information from the school, and it's nice to hear from possible (fingers crossed) other future classmates. If you don't mind, I'd also like to post our application info: GPA (science and overall), NET scores and experience.
My stats:
Overall GPA: 3.93
Science GPA: 3.75 (I think- UT link is down today :wink2:
NET: composite score was 88% (96 percentile)
I'm currently employed as a CNA in a hospital (only have about a month experience so far)
Yeah, I don't understand why you didn't get one. You're grades are much better than mine. It really is depressing. I kept trying to call them today, but nobody seems to want to answer the phones. Nobody is returning my voice mail either. I guess I will try again tomorrow. I wish I knew how to contact the dean. I only want to explain myself, and get some kind of explanation from them. At least I will get a sense of peace and closure.
I am really depending on UTMB now. I know my chances are much better there. I have a higher GPA with their pre-reqs. Hopefully it will work out. If it does, I'll know that their is hope for aspiring nursing students who live in Houston. I've already been rejected from TWU. I guess this is teaching me patience??? I don't know.
can you please clarify on the C's or W's part? what exactly did they say about that? is it C's or W's on the classes that were counted towards your nursing prereq gpa? or just general C's or W's throughout your whole original transcript since forever?
My understanding was they evaluate your entire transcript--And the reason they are only taking 80 is because they are opening the spring semester so they are having to cut the semester enrollment in half! I know!! The competition is already tough! now it has gotten harder! I really do not know when they finish with interviews I thought they were interviewing through feb!?
I will retake more classes, and start working in a hospital. I will also get a bigger apartment if it doesn't work out. All is not lost. I want to be a nurse, and I won't stop trying until I get it!
I am pretty sure there is another week of interviews. I'm not 100% positive about this, but I was told they'd be interviewing till the last week of february, so theres still plenty of time.
Hey you guys. Hope you all are doing well. I kept calling UT and they finally realized that something went wrong with my file and they are signing me up for an interview this week! I"M sooooooo nervous! Can anyone give me any pointers or advice, any would be appreciated. Hope yall have a good week.
I looked on the website and got the Dean of student affairs number and I talked to her assistant. I was like i have a __gpa and a __ net test score and I don't understand why I wasn't chosen to at least have an interview with you all. And they pulled my file and reviewed it and said I'll be getting an email with an interview date in it.
Oh gosh! I got my interview for tomorrow morning at 8am. I'm soooo nervous. Does anyone have any advice? Also I saw they had a writing sample? Was it easy? Thanks!
OH MY GOSH!! I am so happy for you! See what happens when you don't just accept what is given to you! way to get the job done! you are going to be fine on the interview! the writing sample is very straight forward no worries there just think clearly and you will do fine! on the interview just be confident and answer the questions clearly and with focus! If you do that you should be fine! I can't wait to hear how it goes please update as soon as you can!!! GOOD LUCK! I will keep you in my thoughts today!
