Hey everyone! I applied to UT houston and I'm waiting to hear if I got an interview. Applicants for years in the past started threads that everyone went to and kept everyone updated on information from the school, and it's nice to hear from possible (fingers crossed) other future classmates. If you don't mind, I'd also like to post our application info: GPA (science and overall), NET scores and experience.
My stats:
Overall GPA: 3.93
Science GPA: 3.75 (I think- UT link is down today :wink2:
NET: composite score was 88% (96 percentile)
I'm currently employed as a CNA in a hospital (only have about a month experience so far)
Goodluck and hopefully I get some replies!

Oh my GOSH! I don't check the board for a few hours and I feel like I am behind! ONLY 80 PEOPLE??? THIS IS FOR GENERIC?? I think I am going to be sick. (But I do appreciate you sharing the info- I need to be prepared if it doesn't happen).
NHoward- I think you are handling this very well! Hopefully they were able to explain their reasoning in a way that makes sense. (If today is for sure the last interview day) Which this is still kinda early for them to finish interviews compared to past years.
Good luck to everyone!
Ya, at the information sessions I went to they did say they only accept 80 people for the generic program. So good luck everyone!
Caliex I don't think I'm goign to get an interview but I am going to talk with the dean of student affairs tomorrow and get an explanation to why i didn't get one.
Wow, I guess that means 600 other people didn't get an interview either. I really thought my application/ Net score transcript fee/ and other transcript fees counted for something. I guess it was just a waste of time and money...kinda like houston nursing pre-reqs in general. I don't mean to rant, but I heard from the representative that UT-Houston students got in with a 3.25 avg. GPA. I guess that isn't entirely true. I can understand if I'm not accepted, but I didn't even get a chance to prove myself at an interview.
I hope their "Perfect 80" come out to be the best nurses in Houston. I'm just sad because I know people with 4.0's who were accepted into the UT-Houston program, but they dropped out after the first semester. Eh, good luck everyone. Hopefully UTMB works out for me.

Ok, I just got home from my interview! I was one of the last!!! here is what I did find out! they had about 1000 qualified applicants, they chose about 400 to interview and they will accept 80 out of the 400. I also found out that the acceptance is determined by gpa, interview and of the ones who get past that they review your transcript any C's or W's are looked at and I guess may count against you??!. And that, my friends, is how they decide who to accept into the generic program according to the person who interviewed me. I wish everyone the very best! Hope this info helps!!!
