Hi all!
Thought I would start a thread for the fall semester! Anyone who wants to share their stats or anything about the application process can post them here! My stats as of now...
Pre-nursing GPA: 3.54
Science GPA: 3.67
HESI: 87.7
Pretty worried that my stats aren't good enough. Scored low on the A&P section of the HESI (80%) but made an A in the class...hoping maybe that will help even it out? I get discourage when I read through the other threads and see people get rejected with 4.0 GPA's and 90s on the HESI. I do have 80 volunteering hours at a children's hospital but I doubt that would help me enough.
I submitted my application mid-December (12/16) but have not received an eval. I still have classes in progress so that transcript still shows up on my to-do.
I submitted mine at the beginning of January and submitted all my transcripts shortly after. The only thing on my "to do" list is my HESI score.
Just an update, I talked to a UTHealth admissions person today. She mentioned that they only compile the HESI scores once a month, and that this month that should fall on the deadline date. From this I gathered that we would not see any movement on the HESI portion of the to do list, even if they have received them, until the 15th.
On a side note, how heavy does anyone think the cumulative weighs?
It's basically just break down all the courses you've ever taken that will transfer/not transfer to UTHealth as pre-reqs and point out what classes you still need to take (if any). It basically looks like a degree audit if you've ever run one at the college/university you are currently attending. :)
Question: what is the transcript evaluation for? Thank you
Hi all! I am too applying for Fall 2017, but I have a few questions if anyone can help, that would be great!
First off, I just took my HESI on the 10th at another school (not under UT Health's code), how would I send this in to UT and would they receive it on time (before the March 15 deadline)?
Also, I am squeezing in a HESI take on the 14th under UT Health's code, so hopefully I do well or better, and I know those send automatically.
I am also seeing people post their three GPA's: pre-requisite, cumulative(?), and science GPA. I did take courses at two schools so is that what people are talking about when the post their cumulative GPA, so is that every course they have ever taken or how is that calculated?
I am only aware of the two GPA'S: science and UT Health's Pre-Reqs, but is this all they look at or do they take a look at all the courses you have ever taken? From what I heard, they calculate it based on the highest grade you have. I did re-take some courses to attain a higher grade, so I wanted to know if those re-takes are taken into account? For example, I received a D in Micro and retook it and got an A?
Lastly, I sent in my transcripts for one school that says it has been received because I am no longer taking courses there, however, the other school that I am currently taking my last pre-reqs at the status says "Initiated", does this mean they have it and are just not putting a status because I am in the process of taking courses?
Sorry in advance for all the questions - I am nervous, hence why I am posting at nearly 6 A.M.! I really appreciate if anyone could help me out. Thanks and good luck to all!!

Bleph,
If you are taking the Hesi under UT's code the scores will make it to UT automatically, so don't worry about that. Just remember to take the 5 sections that UT requires. I would contact elsevier and see how to transfer the grades ASAP. Just in case you don't do better the second time around. I don't know how to do this since I took the Test under the UT code. UT takes into consideration the science GPA (micro, anp 1 & 2, chemistry, nutrition) the prereque GPA (all 60 hours, including science ). The will only pick the highest grade you made on each class to calculate your GPA's. However they also consider the cummulative GPA which will include every college class you have taken it is here where the D in micro will weigh your GPA down. The transcripts will show initiated if you are currently taking any classes. Good luck !

When did you submit your application? I haven't gotten one yet.
