Fall 2010 UCLA MECN applicants share your comments/concerns

Just a reminder for whoever interested in applying to fall 2010 UCLA MECN program, the deadline is Nov. 2, 2009.

Let me share my story. I mailed my application to UCLA SON two weeks ago via certified mail. I thought I could track my package on USPS website. However, it only showed that the postal service received my package and there was no more further info regarding the arrival at UCLA. I panicked and called the USPS three times with three different phone #s. And I went to my local postal office to recall my package. NO LUCK. They told me to call PO with 90095 zip code. Finally, I talked to the right person who worked in the Village postal in Westwood. He said UCLA had its own postal service system and it did not conform any kind of mailing. I was sort of relief that knowing my package was with UCLA SON. This is my first time applying to MECN. Anyone who is re-applicant out here, do you mind share your previous experience with UCLA-MECN?

Hi Everyone,

I got the same email as (ugh, didn't note the name) person above about UCLA MECN - "Congratulations! The UCLA Schools of Nursing will recommend to the Graduate Division to accept you ..." From the string of comments here, looks like emails went out today. I was advised (by Shelli Shephard in the same email referenced above) that I'd be getting an admissions package in the mail. Sounds like the pattern is 1. email 2. mail admissions packages.

Congratulations Sandman, I got accepted today, too but it's a little complicated considering my significant other lives in SF. So, still waiting on University of San Francisco and ... thinking, doing a lot of thinking. UCLA was my top choice, though. So, I hear you ... all the years of prereqs, etc. ... was validated. :)

I heard from UCLA, but am waiting to hear from UCSF... and people starting hearing from UCSF today... so I'm thinking some poor admin/admissions coordinator is personally sending out emails at each school. I would only worry if you haven't heard by next week.

Hi all! From the previous years' thread looks like those who applied for fellowship get the news first.

I am just as nervous as all who haven't heard yet. It's not over til it is over. I am trying to stay positive. Keeping my fingers crossed for everyone.

I had no idea they were already sending out notices! I thought we weren't supposed to hear until mid-March! I can't believe they are actually ahead of schedule. Did those who got the acceptance emails apply to the fellowship or did anyone get accepted that did not?
