Fall 2011 TCU hopefuls

Published

Is anyone else applying to TCU for next fall? I'm just waiting on my final grades from this semester at my CC before I mail my application. I still have to take A&P 2 and Micro in the spring, but I got a 91.86 on my HESI. I'm really anxious to just get my stuff in the mail already!

And good luck to everyone else! :D:up:

I got wait listed too. anyone know how many people get wait listed or anything about the wait list?

aamon1 What are your stats???

3.6 nursing pre reqs and 3.4 overall. HESI was 88. I hope the wait list is not big.

I still haven't gotten my letter but does anyone know if its possible to go to tcu for a semerster if I don't get in to the nursing program and try to get in as an intransfer studentfor spring? I know they only take out transfers once a year in fall, and I really want to go there. Good luck to everyone!

What time do you usually get your mail, RBauer? Mine doesn't come until 12:30-1:00. I still have to wait a few hours before I can check...

I usually get it around 4pm but of course I have to go on a trip up to northern california so I won't find out til sunday if I got in or not. So you'll have to let me know if you get yours! Goodluck! :)

Did you not apply to other nursing programs? If not, then yes I'd just transfer to TCU and then apply for the Spring term. Keep in mind that there are certain rules to declare your major as Nursing as a TCU student. This is from their site:

Change of Major

  • A TCU student may change to the nursing major if the student is not on academic warning or probation and has or can reasonably expect to have a 2.5 TCU cumulative GPA by the time the student is ready to enroll in courses limited to the nursing major.
  • Student should file an intent to enroll in first practicum courses by October 1 for the spring semester and February 1 for the fall semester. Forms are available in the Harris College of Nursing administrative office.
  • Permission to enroll in practicum courses is determined by the availability of clinical placement slots in clinical facilities.
  • The student must meet the requirements for graduation based upon the published TCU Bulletin at the time of entry into the major.

So if you do decide to transfer to TCU just make sure you get it done by October 1st... and then you can start in the Spring.

No letter for me again today. Living out of state sucks. It takes forever to get mail! :banghead:

I didn't get accepted. I have a 3.5 science GPA and an over all 3.25 GPA with over 142 college credits and a prior Bachelors degree in Psychology. HESI was an 88. I don't know what they are looking for at TCU but it's clearly much more competitive than it seems.

I'm surprised, andi! You seem like you have the perfect stats for admission. What kind of stuff did you put on that resume they asked for?

I guess it really is a crap shoot... :(

I didn't really have anything on the resume except for my prior degree and some volunteering I did in high school like 5 years ago. There must have been a good amount of people who applied because TCU's program isn't supposed to be that hard to get into. Most people can't afford it! Good luck everyone else though

I didn't get accepted either but I did apply to another school now waiting will be the end of the month b4 i know. Good luck to everyone else.
