Fall 2011 TCU hopefuls

Is anyone else applying to TCU for next fall? I'm just waiting on my final grades from this semester at my CC before I mail my application. I still have to take A&P 2 and Micro in the spring, but I got a 91.86 on my HESI. I'm really anxious to just get my stuff in the mail already!

Science GPA 3.0 overall 3.1 so I guess not.

Oh my gosh! A 3.1 and you couldn't get in?? I thought they said the average was a 3.0. This is making me so nervous because I have a 3.41 which doesn't seem good enough now for tcu. :( I hope I get in

I sent my advisor an email asking her what I can do to increase my chances but I have not heard from her. Maybe they had too many applicants I dnt know. I also applied to uta but if Tcu said no then Im sure that will be a no as well.

Well you have to keep in mind that the student who already go to TCU are automatically accepted into their nursing program because they don't have to apply separately... that only leaves an X amount of seats open for "transfer" students. They'll probably be taking students with the highest GPAs and highest HESI scores... and don't give up! *nurse2be* do you go to UTA? If so, that gives you additional consideration for their nursing program.

Did you do any extracurricular activities like volunteer at a hospital and stuff???

Omg, now I'm really nervous! My prereq gpa is 3.48 but my cumulative is 2.68. I originally entered college as a neuroscience major, but when the second halves of calculus and chemistry didn't go well for me, that wasn't happening anymore. lol.

But there's no way I'm getting in if you were rejected, *nurse2be*. I'm sorry to hear that you didn't make it in :(

I'll just have to wait and see if there's anything in my mailbox tomorrow...

Does TCU only look at the pre-reqs to determine your GPA? I thought overall GPA wasn't looked at... I have the same issue. I was a Biology major and it didn't go to well with Calculus and Chemistry... I'm nervous too!

your pre req gpa is 3.48 that should be good enough. I will be retaking two science classes to have a 3.5 in the science portion. Good luck.

my advisor told me they look at the cummulative gpa as well as the prereqs for nursing. So they look at both. I guess my nursing gpa was too low.

Oh, okay. Thank you! Was TCU the only school you applied to? Well at least you're doing something about it and are not giving up and improving your GPA. :)

92 on the HESI and my nursing GPA is 3.48, too. My overall GPA is a 2.99 (I was a Biology major before).
