Fall 08 start . . .what are you studying now??

I'm new here and full of curiosity, so excuse my "getting to know you" type questions.

I was wonder what material everyone is covering right now for those that began school this semester.

We're studying acid-base balance, electrolytes, and GI tract disorders.

What about you??

We just finished our first class 270 it covered Med Surg... Acid Base Electrolye Imbalances, GI system, GU sytems and Reproductive.

We are now in 271 and are covering PreOp,PostOP, Immunity, Endocrine and something else. We just took out first exam in 271 today over Operational stuff.

Our classes are broken down into basically 4 week segments. We have 3 exams and a comprehensive final. Next, we move on to OB in 273 I think.

Foundations - medication administration

Health Assessment - just finished pulmonary assessment and we have an exam/practical next week! the next thing we're learning is cardiovascular assessment.

Remember the nursing Theories... you will have them again during your last semester, the HESI and the NCLEX..

going over the whole physical assessment(return demo on tuesday), fluid and electrolytes, dosage, intro to nursing stuff, gathering info from community assessment.

TPN, initiating an IV, Central line dressing changes, ng insertion, iv push meds, ect.:yeah:

Specializes in OR-ortho, neuro, trauma.

our first test that we had last thurs was on nursing process, individual, self concept, assessment, vitals, environment, and so on there were 26 different chapters on the test. now we're onto pharm, pain, oxygenation, elim etc.
