God is good, all the time. I passed my NCLEX, too. PC stopped at 75, I only got 3 "select all that apply" questions and 2 calculations... I thought it was too easy to be true, but 48hrs later I got the speed unofficial results and I PASSED!

Forgot to mention that you can buy the HESI NCLEX review book and also a HESI PRACT TEST acces code for the evolve.elsevier webpage. YOu get to practice tons of questions there. Allthough to tell you the truth, none of those questions came on the last HESI. We took the exam at the same time, we all got the same questions (160) and you have 4 hours to finish it. I finished in 1 hour and it took me like 15 minutes to hit the last key to know my score.. i was so scared, but once again, thank God because I PASSED!!!

The HESI was the HARDEST exam I have ever taken. We are 45 students in my class and only 9 (YES, ONLY NINE) students passed (thank God I was one of them). I scored 943, which seems to be a good score. What did I do? I used Saunders NCLEX review and focused on those subjects that NOBODY reads, because when you take a class or a review course, everyone talks about Cardiac, respiratory, neuro, etc. BUT the 'weird' diseases that we never cover during nursing school, those are the ones that came on the last HESI. Believe me, this exam is a 'killer' so do not get discouraged if you do not make it the first time. My school requires to pass this HESI exit exam to send out the papers so you can take the NCLEX. You have 3 chances. If you do not pass them, you can still go to the pinning ceremony and get your pin, but you will have to go to school again and take the nursing seminar (or NRS V) the whole semester and try the HESI 3x again... really a pain!!!

This is also for the students at clinical: please respect the other patients. You do not have to walk through the hallway laughing and making all these noises. Patients are resting, are in pain, some are dying. Please be less sellfish and start thinking about them, as well!!!

Again, there is a HESI pract Test which is a web based program. If you ever have heard about the EVOLVE.ELSEVIER page, try it... you will have access to gazillion of questions and get ready to pass HESI with no problems. YOu can get it at Barnes& Noble. The name is HESI PRACT TESt. THey sell it together with the HESI review book.

There is a HESI PRACT TEST, which is actually a web access you buy with 1200 questions divided into subjects, like Management, Fundamentals, Med-Surge, Peds, OB-GYN, Pharm, Psych... it is really helpful. You can get it at www.bn.com (barnes & noble) I think it cost like US$100 (with the HESI REVIEW BOOK) alltogether. It will help a lot. I will look at the ISBN number and write you back.!

My school also incorporates HESI as part of the class. We actually have a 3 credit class called NURSING SEMINAR where we are 'forced' to do the HESI pract tests on the web and send them to our professor as part of our grading. HESI is our exit exam, as well befor the NCLEX. if you do not pass the HESI, you do not graduate... i will take mine the first week of December...

This is for citizens only... are there any other scholarships for residents?

I do not bring any books to clinical, either. Just my PDA with the RN Drug book program inside, my scope, scissors, pen, penlight and some money for snack (??? when whe have time...) BUT I leave my bookpack in my car with EVERYTHING on it.. just in case I need something, I can always run to the parking lot and take whatever I need.

NCLEX books help a lot. I love the Lippincott's Q&A Review for NCLEX-RN and also the Saunder's. Those are the best!!! I started studying for my NCLEX after my 1st semester. The best thing to do is to do Millions of questions, even if you have not had that subject, yet. You are using the "cognitive studying" way... you will remember the next time you have that on lecture and by the time you take your exam, it will be a peace of cake!

Remember the nursing Theories... you will have them again during your last semester, the HESI and the NCLEX..

OBGYN Post-partum assessment: when finding uterus away from midline, it is usually because patient has not voided, so assist her to void or catheterize when needed. That will reduce risk for hemorrhage.

I know about her requirements. What I want to know is when is the best time to start with her program. WHILE I am still on my last semester in nursing? or after I am done? Because I will be done the first week in December, and I plan to take the NCLEX as soon as my paperwork is available... So I guess it will take like a month... If Suzanne's program takes 45 days, then I should be starting. In summary, what I want to know is if it is tooo hard to follow AT THE SAME TIME while I am still dealing with my last Nursing exams? 1 more on OBGYN and 2 on peds, Plus the final, PLUS the HESI on Dec. 1st....

I am still doing my last semester. Will graduate in Dec. Is this the right time to try Suzanne's plan? or Should I focus only on my HESI (exit exam here in NJ)? Thanks for your help, Sandy.
