Question was posed on our BB to TA:

Was wondering how are we going to do the complete assessment if we do not have the tools, such as an otoscope or eye chart? Please advise.

Answer: If you do not have an otoscope or the tools needed, just document that it was not available and document what normal would be

Don't know if that helps you out at all...

On the physical exam form, it says,Masseter muscles (use grading scale – see text for muscle strength rating scales)

Has anyone been able to find this information in the book?

Yes...I found it in Chapter 22! Look up things like muscle testing in the index.

One more questions for you all regarding the health assessment. I get filling in the blanks and doing the narrative summary as given in the examples provided. Do we or do we not, add an additional two to three paragraph "note" on top of the narrative summary (not provided on the examples)? Sounds to me like a summary of a summary. The narrative summary doesn't sound like the 2-3 para part required on the rubric. Any advice?? Thanks.

I have been doing my narative summary at the end paragraph style as a summation. It seems to work for my TA since I have gotten full points. I know it seems redundant.

For the objectives, I just wrote them out in the two table formats. Is that it? I feel like I'm missing something....it can't be that simple.

We had to do a teaching project very similar to this one in a class I had for my ADN. We wrote the objectives like this "After listening to the presentation and the interactive game, the student will be able to recognize and put into action, at least 2 ways to handle stress in any situation". That's "proper" format for an objective.

Yes, I did that with my objectives. Seems too easy.

I know right?! Where's the trick?

Finally got that Assessment nightmare turned in!! Hope everyone is hanging in there.
