Anyone else taking Assessment for Fall third session?

Suggestions from anyone who has taken it already?

I truely get what you are saying. I have never had this kind of a physical exam by a nurse, or a NP either.

I see an ENT and I have never had this kind of assessment done to me before. This is ridiculous!

Hi All,

I am in such a mess right now. I work full time and have my Alzheimer's Mom living with me so Sundays are my only days to do my homework. So, here I am trying to figure out how the heck to get an opthalmascope and Snellen Chart in my house to test my Mom's (my client this week) visual acuity...

Any suggestions would be so very much appreciated.

Thanks

If you have an ipad or iphone there is a Snellen app. The TA in my section said if you did not have the equipment just state that you did not have equipment. Hope that helps!

Thank you so much, this is so frustrating isn't it?

You can print one out or just write "Unable to Assess due to lack of equipment." Then tell what the normal is. That's what we were told to do by our TA. I'm in section 063.

Thanks so much, I think this board is saving a lot of people a lot of frustration!

I made it easier on myself and used my 3 month old for this week. No way to do the eye chart, lol. I'm just putting parents state for the eye part per last pediatrician checkup for the ears.

What are we suppose to do with the sample narrative which is several pages long if we are suppose to have 2-3 paragraphs?

If you are looking at week 4 and have never been taught heart sounds or you need a good review, here is a helpful you tube.

the guy is a bit annoying, but very clear info.

I figured it this way, The long version has just short phrases, a few words at most. The narrative has complete sentences. I didn't rehash everything in the narrative, I just documented the problems or "not normals"

Kind of charting by exception.

That is what I did for the first one and my grade was good, so I'm doing it that way again.

That assignment for head and neck was horrible. I used the sample narrative and just put in my info and left the other narrative the same as the sample. I hope that is ok. ugghhhh

Can't wait until this class is over. This nightmare class has me missing nursing pro practice
