Fall 2019 Lonestar Hopefuls

Published

Hey everybody. I'm not sure if it's too early but I'm making this page for anybody who is applying to the nursing program at Lonestar College for the Fall of 2019. Looks like Montgomery, Cyfair, and North Harris have applications from Jan 7-April 12. Good luck to everyone!

Hi, everyone! I know how anxious all of you are since I was in your position a few months ago. I was accepted into the Cy-Fair ADN program and i will be starting in January. I was curious about this forum since I was sooooo nervous when I applied back in August! I just came here to let you know if you have any questions feel free to ask me! I know I had a lot of questions especially about CF since it's very different from the rest. Good luck to you all on getting in!

I know you're back probably curious about what the cut off was for CF last round. It was a 7.55 I believe. Not too too sure, but it was around there. I do know an alternate that was accepted with a 7.4. CF seems to be one of the most competitive programs since they only accept 40 students.

HAts awesome! Congrats! Have they said what your first semester looks like as far as a schedule?

Yes, we already have our schedules. So far it's just two days of lecture and one day of lab. Lecture is Monday and Thursdays for 4 hours (they will either register you for morning or afternoon, you don't get to chose), and lab is 6 hours on Tuesdays. We will not start clinicals until the summer. Cy-Fairs program is 18 months so it runs through the summer. Also, when they sent us our book list they also had notes on what needs to be done BEFORE we start. So far we have to have read 8 chapters by the first day of class and an extra 3 chapters if you want to get ahead for the second week.

GREAT info! Thank you so much!! I wonder if cy fair runs about the same intensity as other campuses? Aside from the 18 months/4 semesters back to back. I am at a 7.54 score and applying to cy fair and tomball. Not sure in which order.

Congrats on getting in!!! So exciting!! Do you know what the hours are like for morning / afternoon lecture classes? And also the hours for the 6 hour lab days?

Hey looks like we are back in action... Applications are officially open until April 12th.

Awesome to be back!

I have all of my stuff taken care of and will be applying soon. My SO just started his 8 week A&P course and is hoping to make it into the mix in time!

Hopefully once everyone realize the page is back up we can start a score chart and where you applied too.

I’m so glad the page is back I was so worried lol.. but I have a question what exactly did y’all upload for your heb b because I sent my lab results and that wasn’t good enough and my 3 series of shot ?

Hey everyone! I was an alternate for the spring 2019 cohort & unfortunately I wasn’t chosen but I’m reapplying for the fall in hopes to get accepted then! In the mean time, I’m gonna take some prereqs for my BSN this summer as a backup if I don’t get accepted into lonestar in the fall!

Where are you applying to? I'm medical microbiology this semester to get it out the way.
