Fall 2019 Lonestar Hopefuls

Published

Hey everybody. I'm not sure if it's too early but I'm making this page for anybody who is applying to the nursing program at Lonestar College for the Fall of 2019. Looks like Montgomery, Cyfair, and North Harris have applications from Jan 7-April 12. Good luck to everyone!

Hi! I'm so glad I found this page. Nervous/excited to start this process.

Hey ya'll! Just wondering if anyone out there knows if there's a certain amount of times you can retake anatomy classes before they may not accept you? Starting to get a little discouraged. I've taken a&p 2 two times and still couldn't make an A :( I made a C in a&p 1. Don't want to give up but starting to think they may not accept if I've taken class lots of times.

The only thing I know about retaking classes is that if it's the third time that you retake a class they charge you double.

Hello all!

I will be applying to the Transition program with a 7.08! NH, M, and T.

Congrats, and welcome! I saw your cross-post on my transition specific forum as well. Good luck to you!

HI everyone, I have a question if someone can please help answer. For the scoring sheet, do they only take ONE grade from English as well? How does it work if I took English 10 years ago (on my transcript) and did horribly but I retook it 3 years ago and made an A. Will it count as just an A or will they average out both English I've taken? When I called, they told me they look at everything but they will only take one (higher) grade for English. Can anyone confirm this?

I can confirm this. They will pay zero attention to your old grade and it will have no impact on your score or your admission chances. Some schools will average the grades together, LSC will not.

I second CaseyT, they will take your higher grade. They won't even look at the old one.

Thank you so much!!!!!!!

In that case, I will be applying for Fall 2019.

Top choice is Cyfair.

Absolutely, LSC only takes the highest grade, because I had to retake english as well because 10 years ago I made a C in it. I also Took A&P 2 this summer and made a B, and retook it on a 8 week semester and made an A. I like LSC because they only look at your highest grades and hesi, nothing else matters.

Ok thank you guys so much for confirming it! I was just panicking for a moment there since I messed up badly in college 10 years ago and I've worked my butt off to redeem myself for nursing school lol

I completely understand. I did the same back when I was young and did not realize the impact my ignorance to school would have on my future. But you live and you learn. I have spent a small fortune retaking classes for higher grades.
