Fall 2019 Lonestar Hopefuls

Published

Hey everybody. I'm not sure if it's too early but I'm making this page for anybody who is applying to the nursing program at Lonestar College for the Fall of 2019. Looks like Montgomery, Cyfair, and North Harris have applications from Jan 7-April 12. Good luck to everyone!

Omg I'm so happy I found this forum! I've been stalking all past forums for hcc n lonestar! I'll be applying for fall 2019 as well. Do you guys know if the rubric is a set standard they go by in choosing? Or do they look at other factors too? Gosh I've been stressing over this for so long. I've studied my butt off in all my classes & hesi, I just want this so bad!

They strictly choose off of the scoring sheet, plus you have to have all your paperwork in correctly.

Thank you so much for replying! So they choose strictly from the scoring sheet, and then based on whether you turn in the required forms, u get officially selected? Paperwork as in shots and CPR and titers??

Yes titers, ferpa form, everything you see on the nursing application. I don't think you need your BLS cert until after you get accepted.

They pick by numerical ranking and first choice school. You'll know by email the day acceptances go out. If you get put on the alternate list, they will call (based on rank again) when/if a spot opens up at any school up until the day class starts.

Do y'all think it's best to take pharmacology before you get into the nursing program? I'm debating on if I'm going to take it in the summer.

Absolutely. They "highly recommend" it, aka don't make things harder on yourself by adding on classes to an already packed schedule. However, some people have successfully taken Pharm during the program.

Thank you so much!!!!!

Hello,

I'm currently on the waitlist for Tomball LVN. If I'm not accepted Ill apply to CF/T/NH. How would I go about signing up for pharmacology next semester it seems to be needing some kind of override.

Applying to NH, Tomball, Cy-Fair (in that order)... Score is 7.36... Hoping that's good enough to get in....

You have to get approval from nursing department, they can sign you up for it.

Hello,

I'm planning on apply to Tomball, Cy-Fair and North Harris! I took the HESI and managed to score an 87.6!

I also have an A in ENGL 1301. I'm currently sitting at an 88 in BIOL 2402, really hoping my professor bumps me to that A!!

Hi all! Just wanted to join the thread and hopefully meet/communicate with others who are heading into the same program as me. Took my hesi for the third time last week, finally got the score I wanted...96.4! This puts me a 7.856/8. Will be applying to Montgomery, Tomball, and North Harris. April cannot come soon enough!!!
