Hey everybody. I'm not sure if it's too early but I'm making this page for anybody who is applying to the nursing program at Lonestar College for the Fall of 2019. Looks like Montgomery, Cyfair, and North Harris have applications from Jan 7-April 12. Good luck to everyone!
This might be a repeat question but... I have an A in AP1 and a B in English.. Hoping to score high on my HESI.. Should I spend the time and money on a winter mini english 1 and try for that A? .... ?
Definitely take it! You would probably still get in at North Harris or as an alternate, but if you want to ensure you get in to your first choice campus you need As in both classes.
Can someone explain more on the Hep B titer and the 3 shot series? I need to get the blood work with the negative results from the lab AND get the three shot series correct? Does one need to be done before the other?
If you know you probably aren't already immune, skip the initial blood work and go straight for the shots. There is a shortened version of the series offered at Express Family Clinic locations. You get the first shot on day 1, then the 2nd shot about two weeks later, then the last shot about 2 weeks after that. Then you go back in sometime after that (I can't remember the exact time, maybe another week or two) to get your blood drawn. I got my immune results back 3 days later. They are familiar with the paperwork you need for the nursing program.
Hi Guys,
Im new here. I will be applying to all three locations for fall 2019. Im seriously dreading taking AP1, but will be taking it as a 8 week course which it will end march 17th before the cut off date for submission. I took English 1301 in 2012 at HCC, but will be retaking it for an A during the mini term in December. I feel like im crunching here trying to get this AP class in, hopefully I will be able to come out with an A. I will be taking N. Pacha. Anyone Familiar with her?
Hey ya'll! Just wondering if anyone out there knows if there's a certain amount of times you can retake anatomy classes before they may not accept you? Starting to get a little discouraged. I've taken a&p 2 two times and still couldn't make an A I made a C in a&p 1. Don't want to give up but starting to think they may not accept if I've taken class lots of times.

I haven't seen anything about a maximum number of attempts at A&P/English. There was a girl in my A&P 1 class last year that was on her 3rd attempt.
Have you taken Cynthia Galvan at Tomball?? I literally got an A+ in her class and didn't use the textbook. She actually teaches instead of just reading off PowerPoints. I miss her class so much.
Omg I'm so happy I found this forum! I've been stalking all past forums for hcc n lonestar! I'll be applying for fall 2019 as well. Do you guys know if the rubric is a set standard they go by in choosing? Or do they look at other factors too? Gosh I've been stressing over this for so long. I've studied my butt off in all my classes & hesi, I just want this so bad!
