Fall 2019 Lonestar Hopefuls

Published

Hey everybody. I'm not sure if it's too early but I'm making this page for anybody who is applying to the nursing program at Lonestar College for the Fall of 2019. Looks like Montgomery, Cyfair, and North Harris have applications from Jan 7-April 12. Good luck to everyone!

I agree. I plan on continuing on to a BSN program. This is true in any industry.

Are you ready to go in right after Lone Star or do you only have the English and A&P I?

I've got an AA, about to have an AS, 3 drafting certificates, 1/4 of the way done with a business degree (dropped out to change to nursing) lol I have too much collegiate experience. I've got credits out the wazoo but I'll be ready to start a BSN bridge program right when I pass the NCLEX.

Okay so i just got some inside information so I’ll share with y’all! So basically don’t hold your breathe for a letter anytime soon! So here it is, the person who usually handles the sorting of application was moved to a new higher position and they have not filled that position with anyone new yet so nothing has been done with our applications! They are in the process of finding someone or going to have to train someone for that position.... so yea...

Where did you hear this?! ? they've had 3 weeks to do SOMETHING

I don't know how true this is, but a friend of mine who is in the Montgomery program as a first-year student told me hospitals are hiring ADNs from Montgomery but NH students can't even get an interview. Take that with a grain of salt, but it's worth knowing I suppose.

That's definitely not true at all. In fact MH has offered NH students positions as PCAs so that they could possibly transition upon graduation. They're also allowing the students to shadow in a specialty of their choice this year.

It came from a friend who is a student in the program who spoke to an advisor today! Honestly they could possibly,God willing fill the position tomorrow,! But as of today nothing has happened or is being done about the basic track applications

If nothing is being done, then how are people getting a notification for fingerprints? That only happens once a school has submitted a roster to TBON. Otherwise, TBON has no idea who to send a notification to. Seems like suspect information to me. Right? Or am I crazy? lol

So how did Tomball send applicants to fingerprinting, and Montgomery students get calls, if they haven't even looked at the applications. Ugh

I'm with you on this. I think that info is incorrect.

According to the advisor that was a glitch that happened with the fingerprint emails

To be fair, (not trying to be mean here) there's no guarantee in any of that. A "possibly" isn't something solid and anybody can become a PCA so I think it's more to fill lower-level positions instead of any kind of "transition program".

I’m only sharing with y’all the information i got and Ik it’s trust worthy because she’s been very truthful with all the information she has given! Again this could change in a matter of days but my friend literally just left from speaking with the advisor at NH

How is a roster being sent to TBON a glitch? It has to be composed and sent.
