Fall 2019 Johns Hopkins MSN: Entry Into Nursing Hopeful

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey everyone,

I'm currently preparing to apply to JHSON MSN: Entry into nursing program. I was wondering if those of you who are current or former students of the program could share your credentials, GRE Scores, GPA, and experience of being an MSN Entry Into Nursing student. I know that I am asking for a lot. I'm a bit worried that my GPA will not be high enough. Cum GPA is a 3.3 but my prereq GPA is 3.7

@krobinson219 your background both academically and professionally sound like an excellent match for JHU nursing. And yes, I took my prerequisites at Johns Hopkins University. Ironically, that is the only transcript that is having an issue with NursingCas! I am hoping this transcript issue will resolve soon. But I am happy to be finished with the application (:

@VwBee89 I am still in the works of one of my prereqs. I have to take the microbiology class through JHU in January so i am hoping not having one of the prereqs completed will not reflect negatively. In addition, My physiology grade wasn't reflected on my transcript either because I was still enrolled when I had applied so it is a bit concerning. I wonder why JHU transcript is the issue with nursing was. Seems to be very odd. That is one I didn't have an issue with. I had an issue with one of my undergrad transcripts as I have gone to various schools. My advice is to email nursing was and keep hounding them. When I had issues and kept emailing them after they ould respond just with questions about the process my application was verified within two days. Seems like they want people off their back. So just email them asking when your transcript will be verified. Then when they respond ask what happens next? or when will your school receive your application? small questions but it lights a fire under their butts.

@krobinson219 Thank you for the advice. I will start contacting NursingCas, and see if I can get them to hurry up! lol I think you just need to resend that transcript with the Physiology grade (assuming it is completed now). But for sure call JHU to make sure there isn't an additional step you need to complete. I thought the Microbiology course at JHU was great! I felt that I learned a lot from it. I had taken a previous Microbiology course but I felt the JHU one was more comprehensive and it also has the required laboratory component.

@VwBee89 Ya nursingCas is open weird hours too They always answered me within a day though. I put those classes pending down on my application. I will contact admissions on Monday to see if they require my updated transcripts. I don't want them to receive it and be unsure which application to apply it to. Not sure how that works actually. I am worried about the microbiology lab component as some others say it is very in depth and challenging. Taking it online doesn't seem to help wither :( ughh so much to be concerned about. Also my concern is if I do get in what do I bring with me? haha so much to figure out. But we have a month until we know! Also since you took courses at JHU do you still have access to you SIS? When I go on my SIS it states two enrollments. One under Undergraduate non degree student. Which is what i had before I submitted my application. Then a second enrollment under MSn Nursing which is new and does not allow me to register in and showed up after I applied to JHU Nursing. Does yours show this?

Also other cohorts have made facebook pages for the group that gets in for the term applied for. Does anyone know how to do this?

@krobinson219 so far my SIS account only shows that I am non graduate. Im assuming because my application hasn't not been verified yet.

@ VwBee89 I am wondering my sis platform enrolls the MSN once an application is submitted. Odd

@krobinson219 I don't think that means anything in particular other than you have applied. Don't worry you only have about a month until you hear back (:

Ya im not worried just was unsure what to register under for microbiology. Hoping the two accounts link.

@krobinson219 Microbiology is a prerequisite so it makes sense it would be completed through the non graduate. (:

@Adrack Did you have any experiences/extracurriculars that you felt made your application unique? Did you have healthcare experience? Also, how are you liking the program? I turned in my application a week ago!! (:

Has anyone heard any news about when acceptances will be released?
