Fall 2008 Final Grades! BE PROUD!!

Published

Hi Everyone!!

I wanted to start a post on final grades for the Fall 2008 semester. I'm very happy with my grades right now i'm doing the happy dance! LOL. :yeah:

Anthropology (Buried cities and lost tribes) = A

Anatomy and Physiology 202 = B

How did everyone else do?

Biology - A

Introductory Algebra - B+

GPA......4.0!

Sounds like I may be the only C...but I have to say im still proud of it. Was a bus major and changed to nursing.

A & P 1 was my first science class since High School !!! ( and thats a LONG time) I had A's in all my Bus classes and was floored by this class. I looked at everything Gray and you have to see Black and White for Science. Needless to say that half way through the semester, right before time to drop with a W I had a big fat F as my average. I REFUSED to give up, stayed in the class, tried diffrent study techniques ( which now I can take with me to A & P 2)

cried, studied, had a few anxiety attacks before tests...but pulled my grade up to a C !!!

I never thought I would be happy with a C, ever !! But I am. Now that I have proved to myself I can do it I plan to use the diffrent study techniques from here on out and know I will do better...live and learn right ?

I just read my grades.... :yeah:

Algebra- A

Anthropology- A

Biochemistry- A

Nutrition- A

I've never gotten straight A's in my life....

Biology A

I also work 40 hours a week and managed to see my college football team play 6 games live, threw a birthday party for my 12 year old daughter (with 35 guests) and took my husband to Denver for a romantic long weekend this semester. I promised myself that I would be happy with the minimum needed to get into the program and not ignore my family too much until I am in the program. (My husband just graduated as an RN from the same program in May and it felt like we didn't see him for 2 years, very sad.) Also, I haven't been in school for 17 years. So, yes, I am proud of myself. And congrats to all of you!

What schools give A+? I haven't seen A+ since I left high school (I have been to four colleges and have never seen one give A+). What is the difference between and A+ and an A as far as GPA?

I'm in Canada, so things are a little different I suppose (although I can only speak to my area). No difference in GPA between an A and an A+ (both are 4.0). For this school, A is 90 - 94.9%, and A+ is anything 95% and over. Not sure why both are 4.0. Each school has a slightly different grade scale from what I understand.

We also don't have college prerequisites such as A&P that we need to take before applying, we just have to achieve a certain percentage in high school classes in order to apply, and/or a certain GPA or higher (although you do need those high school classes as prerequisites to some college classes). Admission is based solely on whether you meet the competitive average for admissions or not. However, we can take classes outside of the program to lighten the load once we are in the program, which is what I am doing.

We also only have the option of a bachelors degree if we wish to be a registered nurse, beginning with anyone writing the exam in 2010. The last class of diploma nurses started in fall of 2007.

Specializes in Nursing Assistant.

Here in Boston at my communty college the grades are as follows,

95-100% is A+ (4.0)

90-94% is A- (3.7)

Specializes in nursing student.

St. Louis Community College in Missouri grading as follows:

A = 92 – 100%

B = 84 – 91%

C = 76 – 83%

D = 70 – 75%

F = 69% or below

I am so glad the semester is over!!!!

B in A&P I

Starting A&P II and History after 1877 for the Spring semester. Is anyone working full time and taking more than 2 classes? How do you do it?
