Fall 2016 Century College Applicants

Published

Hi everyone,

I really enjoy the helpful information, support and tips found on this site and thought I'd start a thread for fall Mane program applicants.

I am currently on the wait list for Century Fall 2016. Composite score is 11.22 Someone in another thread said they were told by admissions that there are 45 people on the list with scores ranging from 10.94-11.33. My Teas score after a few attempts was 75. Not sure if I want to take again if not selected for Fall 2016 from the wait list, or just resubmit the same score-I know that after the June 1st application deadline for Spring 2017, the Teas 6 will need to be submitted :( Anyone with thoughts on this?

Also, I am seeing a trend with people going to Rassmussen to avoid the reapply and wait process...anyone with thoughts on that? Trying to stay positive about being selected off the wait list for fall, but also trying to be realistic about finishing school sooner rather than later.

Any thoughts/opinions and updates if you've heard any news on the wait list movement is appreciated!

Hey there!

I'm in the same boat as you, waitlisted at Century with an 11.14. All I can say is stay positive I know it's hard, I'm barely keeping it together. They say the Fall cohorts are always more competitive but someone with a 10.87 got in last semester so you never know. I'm planning on retaking my teas to reapply in june, just incase I don't get a spot. I don't know about Rasmussen honestly I only hear bad things, there are multiple schools in the metro area that are accredited so maybe give those a shot first. I'm pretty confident you'll get a spot with your score though. Good luck!!!!!

I will likely do the same with the Teas...I do have a friend in the program at Rasmussen out in Blaine...she said it's not too bad...but the cost is 3 times as much as the Mane program. I know their BSN program is accredited, but the 2 Yr is not. The thought of student loans due come this summer and reapplying several times for the Mane program is so exhausting, some days it really is hard to not get anxious. Do they call or send a letter to those selected from the wait list? Sherry Hegstrom told me they hope to let a few know by mid April (NEXT WEEK IS MID APRIL!! :) )

Mid April!!!! That's great! I think century sends letters. That's what they did last semester for those waitlisted that got a spot. I know what you mean. I made peace with waiting after I got my reply in march but some days I feel like I'm going crazy lol. I think I've memorized some of the threads on here :p

Well keep me posted and I'll do the same!...my back up plan is Rasmussen if I'm not into a Mane program by Spring 2017...winning a seat in the MANE program has gotten to be a bit like gambling...I cant wait an indefinite amount of time to finish school and get a job! I could take the Teas 100 times and likely not get a 90 on it ...even if I did, somehow I think there would be a few others who did too, and the wait could be endless!...I've honestly lifted the entire situation up to God at this point!

I will for sure! Good luck again!

What about applying as a transfer student to a four year school and shooting for their nursing program? If you don't get in, which hopefully you will!

How many apply at century and how many are accepted each semester? Anyone know?

8130

Century has 72 spots every semester and I think around three hundred apply like the other schools and I heard 45 spots on the waiting list.

Just an FWI to some of you I have looked at all MANE post on here like hawk since Feb 1st. I did end up getting into normandale with a 11.93 ranking. But through looking at all the post I have gotten a good feel on acceptance rates of schools. It seems like Anoka Ramsey is the easiest MANE program to get into, most likely because they accept the most people. An 11.22 ranking for Anoka Ramsey might actually get you a forsure spot in the program... just food for thought. Although I did see that someone got into century's program after being waitlisted last apply date with a 10.89 ranking or something, so who knows you might make it into century. Good luck!

I just sent Sherry an email and I got an automatic reply saying she'll be out of the office until Wednesday the 27th. I can't even handle the wait anymore I've tried keeping my mind busy with the millions of things I have going on but it's NOT helping. Slowing dying!!! (a bit dramatic but still)

My acceptance letter for Century came today!!!!! I had to file an appeal for transcript issue and it was approved! My composite score was either 11.87 or 12.0 depending on how they took a transfer class. I will be accepting my position for Fall 2016. Fingers crossed for those of you still waiting! Good Luck!!!!
