Fall 2016 Century College Applicants

U.S.A. Minnesota

Published

Hi everyone,

I really enjoy the helpful information, support and tips found on this site and thought I'd start a thread for fall Mane program applicants.

I am currently on the wait list for Century Fall 2016. Composite score is 11.22 Someone in another thread said they were told by admissions that there are 45 people on the list with scores ranging from 10.94-11.33. My Teas score after a few attempts was 75. Not sure if I want to take again if not selected for Fall 2016 from the wait list, or just resubmit the same score-I know that after the June 1st application deadline for Spring 2017, the Teas 6 will need to be submitted :( Anyone with thoughts on this?

Also, I am seeing a trend with people going to Rassmussen to avoid the reapply and wait process...anyone with thoughts on that? Trying to stay positive about being selected off the wait list for fall, but also trying to be realistic about finishing school sooner rather than later.

Any thoughts/opinions and updates if you've heard any news on the wait list movement is appreciated!

Praying for good news in the mail today!!...keep me posted :)

Nothing again...hopefully you get good news.

Nothing for me either :(

Funny thing is I can't find my teas book anywhere lol I really hope I don't have to buy a new one on top of all this!

I don't want to look at that book ever again! I am going to call the admissions office tomorrow and see if I can get some info-like whether or not all the appeals were done and how many seats opened up for the waitlist, and whether or not all letters were sent out. Maybe they are still working on them, and seat availability has yet to be determined!...all I've heard is the one story about someone who won her appeal and got in. I would think more people would be posting if they were waitlisted and now accepted!...hopefully I am able to find out when I call. Have you signed up for the Teas?

Not yet I need to find my book first lol

Please let me know what they say.

Called at 8am...they transferred call to the nursing dept...i left a msg and have not heard back. i will post lster if i do though!

I'm graduating from Century in a few weeks and absolutely love it. Century is an excellent program and they're the top school in MN for Nclex scores. may be easy to get into, but remember there's a reason why. I haven't talked to anyone in clinicals at a hospital that has graduated from Rasmussen. Keep trying and pursuing, you can do it!

Thank you for the encouragement...and congratulations to you! I dropped my app off in person and as weird as it sounds, had a "good feeling" about the school-everyone was friendly, welcoming and helpful-every time I call there it's the same way. Really praying I get in, but haven't heard any news re: the waitlist yet. I'm going to try and get my Teas score above 75 (my composite is 11.22 right now) next month and pray for an act of God! I really don't want to go to (and likely wont), but student loans are due, and the competition is only rising :( Have you heard of anyone accepted from the wait list for fall? I would assume it's about this time that the majority of seats open( if there are any) as everyone had to accept their offers by April 1st.

No, I haven't heard. Did they tell you what number you are on the waiting list? I remember applying and they said they wouldn't tell people where they were at. I have a friend a cohort behind me that was emailed or called and had 24 hours to say if they were going to accept it or not. That teas score is a huge factor, as it is a huge part of your score. For getting your score up, I suggest following the teas study book/workbook to a T.

Thanks for the reply...and no, they dont tell you your number...i've got the manual and learned alot from keshwani for math...he goes throught each page of the math in the teas book-gonna pull it out and do it again!...thanks for yor encouragment!...and good luck on your Nclex!

One quick tip that really helped me on the math... I googled "multiplying binomial worksheets answers" and terms like that. Printed off and practiced a ton of questions for different parts of the math section (I'm TERRIBLE at math). That really helped me on that part of the test. Best wishes to you, you can do this!!

GRue2016, I don't know if this info helps or not, but I am the student who had to file the appeal for the transcript issue and I got my acceptance letter last week on Thursday admitting me to the Century Fall 2016 cohort. On my acceptance letter it stated I had to reply with my answer by April 29th. I am thinking all the letters that went out last week were for the appeals, and they have to wait until after tomorrow the 29th to see how many of us accept our spots. Once they know that, then they can probably send out the next round of letters for the next students on the waitlist. I don't know this for sure, but from talking with other classmates who are waiting, they have not heard anything yet either and their scores are similar to yours. Hang in there....you have a good plan and I know you are going to succeed at some point, so don't give up!!! I also second the no Rassmussen, I know one of the instructors and things aren't always well there.....don't want to say more than that.
