Hi All,
just wondering if anyone has applied to cac for fall 08? and have you heard anything baout your interview? im going crazy not knowing.....
i am so confused. if it only three days i wonder if that just overs lecture and the other day they have on the schedule would be set for clinicals. i will give her a call tomorrow and see what i can find out. if we reallt do only have three days then i may consider keeping my job 2 days a week.
Now that i think about it , someone there may have told me that it was three days when i met with her over a year ago when i was just getting information so maybe the schedule is wrong. i have no clue... ill let you know what i find out tomorrow...
Ok ladies , heres the scoop: the schedule is MWR 830-330 and wednesdays are usually half days ending at noon. This also includes clinicals so there will be no other times we need to be there. Clinicals dont offically start in the hospital til after our 1st 8 weeks . so.....im relieved......see you all on the 14th . 2 weeks and counting
i dont know much about it, but i was thinking the same thing, i called and got some information a while ago but it wasnt very helpful. i know they have a weekly tuition that i think can be part time of full time. i would try calling the main number and ask the operator to transfer to child care, i believe they can previde all the information that you would need. i need to do the same. let me know if you find anything out.
see you next week
I wanted to thank you and Rhonda for doing some leg work by finding out the hours for the course outline before the orientation next week..this really helps me out with getting things coordinated with my husband and our five year old, who just started kindergarten. I have a solid 30 minute drive (with no traffic hang-ups) to CAC, so I need to plan things now. I might have to put my daughter in an after school program, because my husband won't be able to leave work three days a week early. If we do indeed get out at noon on Wednesdays, this would help alot..I guess we will wait and see...
Ok, got my nursing shoes (Dansko) and stethoscope (Littmann) already, plus a few other accessories..can't wait for the kit list $$$$$
My friend (who will be in class with us) told me that the books for the course are not in yet (he checked at the bookstore already) and that all the books will do us for the entire 4 blocks, and they will cost roughly $1000....plus uniforms, and clinical supplies. WOW..
Ok, will see you in 10 days. If you find out anything more, please pass it on..thanks ....Christine
Hey christine,
wow you are ahead of me . i havent got my shoes or a new stethoscope yet. i was thinking about waiting until after orientation. unless we have to have all of this stuff then. do we? i am unsure about the dansko shoes. how do you like them? i tried a pair on and wasnt sure how i would feel about them after being on my feet all day, they seemsed like they would start ot hurt.
cant wait to see you all next week

Hey there..I like the Dansko's, for me anyway, they are comfortable. I had a pair for my CNA class, but these are a different style, even more support in the sole and heel. As for the stethoscope, I'm sure it will be compatable..and if not, oh well, I'll keep it for later.
Just spoke with my husband and relayed the info about the time-line..he is kind of worried about our daughter's pick up from school. I checked the "week at a glance" and so far I can only see my psy 203 that I will be taking (while taking the core courses)..I can't seem to plug in the nursing 121 and dosages 126?? Hummmm. Looking at the class schedule it says that 121 will start at 6:30am to 5:00pm?? I hope that this is not correct..Any ideas?

I hope to start in the spring, but I was also told it was 3 days a week 8-3:30 but when I looked in the course catalog it had different hours....which were 4 days a week.
