  1. RSAA is a place in Mesa where you can get your CNA cert. I took my CNA there and it was 5 weekends. From what I hear, the LPN program still has openings and there is no wait....at least that is what I was told when I called.
  2. I felt unprepared but still passed.
  3. Everyone was nervous about the skills test but it wasn't so bad. I got BP, entiembolic stocking, brushing a comotose residents teeth, bedpan, and I don't remember the 5th one, haha, but I passed. The written was easy. I got a 99%.
  4. Yeah, we never went over hospital stuff and I've heard it's practically impossible to get a job at a hospital right out of CNA school anyways. You almost have to work in a nursing home before getting a job at a hospital.
  5. I went to RSAA for my CNA and was told that what we got from them was NOT enough for NS so I have to take another CPR class somewhere else. I plan on going to CAC and they require the Healthcare card "C," whatever that means. It might be different for you though.
  6. The only part of CNA school I enjoyed was goofing off with two of my classmates...one of them being Sbenning5. :) We met online right before class started. The rest of it was .......
  7. Well, technically CHM 130 IS required because Microbiology is a co-req and CHM 130 is a pre-req to Micro.
  8. I just called RSAA and they confirmed to me that you DO have to submit 2 fingerprint cards like I previously stated. The set you sent to AZBON is to get your background check done and the one sent to DPS is for the fingerprint clearance card.
  9. RSAA told me we HAVE to send in 2 cards. One to AZBON, and one to DPS. You could call DPS and verify, but this is what I was told and this is what I did.
  10. This was confusing me too, but I think I know what happened? Maybe. I went to RSAA and I wrongly assumed that when they said they do your fingerprints and the CPR class that it was what I needed for nursing school. WRONG. You must submit one set of fingerprints to AZBON and ANOTHER SET of fingerprints to DPS with an application and a check for $47. This has nothing to do with fingerprints, but not only do you get a CPR cert at CNA school, but it's not the one you need for nursing school so you then have to take a completely separate class to get into NS. Ugh. Confusing! Anyhow, is that what happened, that you never sent in a 2nd set of prints to DPS? If you did, and you filled out the application and already paid the $47 I have no idea! That sucks either way. I'm in a somewhat similar predicament.....waiting on my clearance card and my CNA license number for January placement (application must be in by October)
  11. I don't remember what RSAA stands for....although it's in big letters on the wall at the school. :chuckle Here is their web site. http://rsaatraininginstitute.com/
  12. I am going to apply for CAC for spring admission. I am currently taking my CNA course at RSAA. I am in the weekend program and it's 6 weekends...I am going into the 4th weekend, with clinicals starting Sunday. I personally find it very boring. I'm hoping clinicals will be more exciting and I'm glad I can get it done in 6 weeks and not 15 like at the community college.
  13. I hope to start in the spring, but I was also told it was 3 days a week 8-3:30 but when I looked in the course catalog it had different hours....which were 4 days a week.
  14. Yes you would need to include those transcripts.....As far as I know about the NET test, you do have to have a passing score but the score doesn't factor into whether you get a spot. Same with GPA as long as it's a C average. I don't think the chances of getting in within one semester are very good. Last time I looked there was about 1500 people on the wait list so all those people would be ahead of you. It's about a 3-4 semester wait right now.
