fall 08 at central az college

just wondering if anyone has applied to cac for fall 08? and have you heard anything baout your interview? im going crazy not knowing.:bugeyes::madface:....

I just talked to the secretary and the uniforms are $220!!!

wow. i guess EXPENSIVE is the key word there huh? 220 for uniforms, i sure hope that supplies more than one set of scrubs. lol. cant wait to offically meet you all on 14th .

Hey Ronda, Christine here...will be joining you for the fall RN class at CAC. Saw your recent post regarding the cost of uniforms....what the heck..are they stiched with gold thread or something?? I wonder if there is a "pack" that you need to buy..like say, two or three sets of uniforms for that $220.00?? Have you bought your shoes yet? I had a great pair of Dansko klogs for the course, and had to sell them because you have to have closed toe and heel. I wore them for my CNA course, and they were great. Also, I just purchased a "nurses pro-pack" online, should come in handy so I can carry all my needed tools. I wonder if we can purchase our books at CAC bookstore before the class starts?

I think the orientation will be very informative..plus an expensive day! Can't wait to meet you!! Tomorrow will be three weeks !!

Hey Christine!

For that amount, I think it includes the jacket, two shirts and a pair of pants. I pray that we get more then that...can you imagine spending that every year? White gets dirty, and I even bought my own pants in the CNA class since they said you can buy the white ones, and use them for the nursing program.

Havent bought any shoes yet. I am looking into Dansko.

hey ladies,

whats the deal with shoes? no sneakers of any sort right? closed toe obviously and closed heel? any suggestions. i bought a pair of all white nikes for my cna that were 150.00 thinking i could use them for the RN program too. any suggestions on what to get?

I think that I will be trying E-Bay looking for some sales on Dansko shoes. When I checked them retail, they are about $130.00 but are well worth it. Also, have you gotten (or have suggessions) on a stethoscope? I would like to treat myself to a Littmen (I think that is how you spell it), and I know that I can get a slightly used one on E-Bay for a good price. Any thoughts?

Well, I just found out today that our classes will be Monday, Wednesday and Thursdays from 8am til 3:30 pm.

So excited!!!!

hey rhonda, now im really confused. i was told that our schedule was monday and tuesday 6-5 , wed 8-3 and thursday 8-12. has it changed or is that what you ahve always been told?

I called a couple weeks ago to find out which days since my husband needs to work around my schedule....I was told Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.

I called about a week ago to find out the hours for Monday, since my husband will more then likely have to work that day and she said from 8am to 3:30pm.

I emailed today to find out the hours for the other days and to see if there was any info regarding the clinical day. I was told the hours are the same for each day.

When were you told the other hours? I hope it has changed. :banghead: I cannot do Tuesdays unless I go back to work to afford child care lol

I was told me those hours when i went and filled out the information. also, when i registered for the classes and even now if i look online at the week at a glance it has me scheduled the hours that i stated above. i hope the hours you found out are correct, that would be great! im just afraid that if i plan on only the three days then it will be all 4 and i wont be prepared. im in the same boat as you, my husband has to keep the kids after working graveyard and thats just bad for all parties involved.

Yeah I see the hours on the Week at a Glance thing. Maybe call her up tomorrow and ask? I hate it when we start getting more than once answer.

Or maybe the hours are different now since they have new Dean of Nursing?
