Fairmont State University

Updated:   Published

Hello all. I have recently applied to Fairmont State University (West Virginia) LPN to RN "Hybrid Option" I have been an LPN for 2 years, but have worked in nursing for the past 10 years. I know that all programs are competitive, but I wonder if any applicants or past student recall what their TEAS test scores were? There is no current "scoring sheet" to give me a better idea of what my chances are. I have a 3.5 GPA, and all pre reqs completed for my Pre BSN. .

Just looking to see if anyone can give me an idea of what they had when they applied and were accepted. Thank you in advance

I was accepted for Spring 2024. I live in Connecticut, also wonder about clinical

I was told for Fall 2023 the 1st semester is 1 weekend a month /each month and Semester 2/3 is up to you& your preceptor to coordinate the schedule

I am considering this program.. Have you figured out how much tuition is? The online chart just doesn't make sense to me, and when I tried to call the program directly I left a message but never received a call back. I know they're very busy, so I figured maybe I would ask somebody that was accepted how much their tuition will be because I'll be coming from three and a half hours away out of state

How much is the tuition of this program? For some reason I am unable to view it on my phone, laptop is toast. Is it in state rates since it is online?

Out of state is roughly 17k ish

Hey guys- I just applied to Fairmont and will be applying by the January 15 deadline to hopefully get in Fall 2024 for the LPN to RN program. I'll be traveling from IN to WV. Can you all that are already in the program? Please let me know how things are going? How are the online classes? How are clinicals? How often are you having to travel to WV?
thank you so much I appreciate any insight!

I'm getting ready to take my TEAS Dec 8th!!

Someone in my program travel from IN to WV. Totally doable. Online classes are good, I actually really like this program. Go for it! It's totally worth it. For clinical It's 1 hour and 15min away from Pittsburgh airport I fly in and drive on a Friday. Clinicals Sat/Sun 7-3pm.  The online is cool, it's a lot of interaction with your professors via email and they respond fast. I would say focus on your TEAS ,pass and apply. During 1st semester you may come to WV 3 maybe 4 times .twice for clinical and 1 for skills lab and maybe 1 more for anything else that is on your syllabus

So I got my acceptance letter to the LPN to RN for fall 23 cohort last week!! . From what I was told clinical are on consecutive days each month. Tuition varies for Instate, out of state, or metro students, cost were listed on the college website

Hi, I was wondering how the program was. I applied from NY.  Thanks

Hi everyone I just applied to fairmont and my TEAS SCORE was an 82% I have been an LPN only since September of 2024. so I hope this doesn't hurt me, I have been a CNA for about 8 years prior.

Hello, did any of you finish the program? If so how was it?

I completed the program back in August and I was from New York City. I just flew from New York to Pittsburgh and drove an hour and 20 minutes until West Virginia. It was no big deal. I think that it's a great way to finish our RN and give you a little vacation I booked the hotel in Fairmont at the Holiday Inn And I booked the car through Turo. Steals lab sometimes gets canceled and they'll give you something virtually to do but overall the program is very doable and you won't have a lot of times to go to West Virginia in the last part of Clinicals . They place you with 2 different nurses and then you schedule your preceptorship schedule yourself. I would definitely recommend the program. I feel so blessed to now be a RN (I passed NCLEX 85 questions; 1st time)
