I graduated in July 2014, I failed the nclex 6 times. Did everything Hurts, kaplan, remar review. Ncsbn. I I used the kaplan strategy and study and listen to remar and hurts. My Kaplan average test score between 60 to 65. When I used 50 questions with kaplan I average between 60/65.I am going insane. I don't want to give up coming too far to let go.Please any advice.
lol please site your source Leigh......right. Just as I thought still making up things. Now go and study
From this document readily available from NCSBN:
84.53% of US nurses passed NCLEX on the first try for the year 2015.
Of those who failed the first attempt, only 44.52% managed to pass on a subsequent attempt.
That second statistic speaks volumes- one's chances of demonstrating minimum competency after failing decreases steeply.
Hmmmmmmmmmm I find that hard to believe considering my aunt is a DON at her facility in Philadelphia Pa and has considered LPN experience when hiring RNs. I asked her when all these nonsense threads we're going back and forth.
That's ONE place. Everywhere else apparently feels differently & you have many people who have chimed in to say so.
It is an employers market, they can choose to count LVN experience or not. Why is it so hard to believe they wouldn't?

That's great for her and for the LPNs to RNs who apply there. But a lot of places don't and a lot of members here have experienced that.

But no one else is saying where. They are just saying probably what they heard. She said she was from Philadelphia and that happens to be where my aunt works so I was able to comment with facts. Pay attention Chaos...lol

Why would anyone post their job on an anonymous forum? Maybe you need to pay attention. No one is going to post that kind of information.

She's in LTC, yes?
Unless you know recruiters at Penn, Abington, Jefferson, CHOP, Aria, Chestnut Hill, Lankenau, Cooper, Chester County Hospital, St Mary's, Einstein...let me know...because that did not happen to me-in fact, most of my class was surprised when I didn't get a job FIRST.
And that's from nurse recruiters letting me know to my face. The current job that I hold, the recruiter told me "we went away from LPNs ten years ago, so we don't consider years as LPN." I've been at this Children's hospital for almost a year.
My previous employer at a top Children's hospital consider LPNs a "senior Techs" NOT nurses in the hospital, although they employ LPNs at their clinics-it when it comes to experience in MY experience, it did NOT.
You may think it's "nonsense", but when you have 1,000:1 due to twenty nursing programs pumping new grads out every six months, NO, these hospitals can do what they want...especially when there are business behind making the decisions, not nurses.
And that....is FACTS.
Feel free to apply and call up these recruiters-if you can-and visit a career fair here...I'll wait...

No need to wait because I know when it comes to Philadelphia
Ok...only from one facility where you conveniently know the DON-as opposed to those who have a hard time looking for work and have looked up to eight months to a year, even with LPN experience...ok...![]()
Another new member who has been a member here three days who knows everything. I sure am glad we have people who can set us straight!
