I am getting the worse grades I have gotten throughout this entire program in Med Surg two class.
I have a 55, 60 and a 77.
77 is considered passing.
I am studying how I have been all along throughout this program. The professor I have doesn’t focus on the lengthy chapters he assigns for reading, he will typically make a test 80 percent of topics that weren’t covered in those assigned chapters, 20 percent of what he said to read.
Help!
What do I do?
i have a midterm on Tuesday and my grades are going from bad to worse.
Should I just give up?
This is my last nursing class.

Can you meet with your professor to address your concerns? That might be your saving grace.
I did.
Unfortunately, he didn’t help at all.
He is not a professor who is compassionate about his students.

Do he cover the test material in his lectures? Is it covered in recommended reading beyond just the textbook? How are the other students doing? Get with a high performing classmate and ask to see how and what they study.

How many tests are remaining? Does mid-term and/or final worth a higher percentage of your grade than a regular test? Are the tests the only thing graded in the class?

You need to find a reliable study resource. If you are not understanding, go online check out popular learning platforms like picmonic or osmosis.org or khan academy on YouTube to understand the reason for things. Buy Saunders comprehensive review for LPN. Get tutoring from a private tutor.

First of all, how is the entire class is doing? Is it consistent with your grades? If the questions weren't from the chapters he or she tested, then take the appropriate action by addressing these. If he doesn't reconsider it, then talk to the other faculty member that can address your concern.
Can't imagine spending my quality time reading chapters after chapters then the exam is not based on these.
