I'm feeling pretty low right now. I just got my nclex-pn results yesterday, waiting for 4 agonizing weeks and you know what........ I failed:o . I was surprised because I felt really good about the exam, I really thought I passed this time. This was my second time taking the exam and I just feel so angry that I have to take it again. I feel like I don't have any more confidence in myself. For those of you who have taken your nclex-pn....... can you tell me what books you used to study? I have saunders and I went to a review(which didn't help me much). I just really want to get on the right path. Maybe I'm studying the wrong material. Please help!

Thanks for all the support. I actually have finished reading the Kaplan book, but to tell you the truth...... I'm still having a hard time. I keep trying to use the strategies it gives me..... but I end up forgetting and just using my critical thinking. I'm thinking of trying the ncsbn learning extension. And I've also gotten into the habit of being lazy. After I bombed that exam..... I just feel like I don't even want to study anymore. I know that's not a good attitude...... but I don't really know anymore. I'm not giving up.... just don't have that much confidence like before. But I do know that I will definitely take my time w/ this third exam. I don't think I'll be taking it anytime soon though, I'll just keep busy w/ work and study here and there. Oh and as for where I got the kaplan book..... I got it at Barne's and nobles. Oh yeah and Kaplan has a med book, but it's an RN version. Do you think I should buy it? One of my weaknesses is pharmacology.
I have both of Frye's 3000 Nursing Bullets: the PN and the RN version. I must admit that these two books were very good, concise and handy when I was preparing to take NCLEX.I believe in a book called Fryes 3000 Nursing Bullets PN edition. This book is a handy little book that gives 3000 tidbits about different things in nursing. I read it cover to cover several times before taking my nclex-pn and passed first try with 85. I just highlighted the bullets that I was not familiar with and each time I read it I highlighted in a differnt color until I was familiar with the complete book.

i had ati while in school..to be honest, every student had to pay like $300 or more for ati..to me, it was a waste of money..if you have $20, a kaplan book is a lot better...i took the nclex yesterday..it shut off at 170..i am waiting for my results..kaplan does stress the main points if you read kaplan

Hi, I took my LVN boarde exam on Aug. 17 and have not heard anything yet, I am so scared and worried that I did not pass. I too was cut off at 85 questions and to tell you the truth I didn't feel one bit confident when I walked out of that room. I also studied from the Saunders book and went to an NCLEX review, which I thought were worthless after I took the test. Where can I find the Kaplan book?
