Failed the NCLEX...What now?!?

Published

I did not pass the NCLEX. I had 256 questions and I have been using the Kaplan. I'm still using it, but I don't think its that helpful. Does anyone have any suggestions on how or what to study?

try suzannes plan..

i am very sorry to hear that you didn't pass. i know exactly how you feel, i have failed 3 times already (not to discourage you)...i also did kaplan and never got my money back, just renewed the subscription. if you are not going to continue with kaplan, then i recommend you get your money back! i bought the newest edition, 4th edition, of saunders comprehensive nclex-rn review book. i am using it to follow suzanne's plan, and only this book. some people use it with kaplan or other review books, but since this will be my 4th time testing, i want to do it right, do it with suzanne's plan and use only the saunders book. please take a break and when your ready to pick up your studying, look into suzanne's plan. i hope everything works out and best of luck to you with whatever you decide to do.

Sorry to hear about your failing the nclex have faith you will make it. I just joined this site , I will be taking mine next week I am very nervous and I am keeping the faith. I am hoping that this site is free because I just updated it so that I can post a comment, If it isn't can some one please let me know. I also would like to find out where do I go to find out about susanne study session for the nclex..I have the suunders 4th edition sitting in my closet, and have yet to get to it . I have been doing the hurst online review along with many kaplan cd questions and exam cram as well as measure up questions. I would really lik eto have someone inform me of any thing that I may need to know about the nclex. I did see somone who has just passed after 5 times and I am wondering if after the 3rd time does everyone have to take a review course or does it go by the state in which you take it. I was advised that after 3 times here in florida I must take a revew course .. what ever info anyone has please let me know thanks so much..... :nuke:

This site is free and welcome. There are many posts and support threads to help you. Yes with some BON's you have to take a course if you fail a certain amount of time. Keep practicing questions and make sure you understand the reasons to why you got any wrong ie check the rationale to the questions and see what they was looking for. Good luck for next week

hi!

welcome!

i am sorry to hear you didn't pass. i am currently working on suzanne's 1st tip, and will be finished by the end of this week.

i am posting a link to the sticky that discusses the requirements for suzanne's plan.

Thank you so much for the info siverdragon102 I do have a question you did mean some board of nursing meaning the state that you are in? What they require? Each state is different? What state does not require you to have to take a review after 3 times would you know how I can find this out? I am planning on passing however, crazy things do happen. anyway thanks so much..

Each BON has their own requirement and I would just concentrate on passing and cross the bridge if it comes up

hey. im so sorry to hear your news. i had taken kaplans complete review and it worked for me. i did review the course book about 3x and practically memorized the whole thing (of course understanding the concepts and rationales as well).
