FAILED NCLEX 5 times! Can anyone please give advice??

Published

Hi Arizonians!!!!

I moved here from Michigan 1 year ago and I love all of you guys! Anyway... I graduated and obtained my BSN in 2001 and I have failed the NCLEX 5 times, due to a lot of stress (divorce, moving out, etc) which is no excuse. I graduated 2nd in my class and I thought that I would not have a problem with the boards since I have never failed anything in my life. Well, I was wrong. The last time I took the NCLEX was in 2003. Since I failed AGAIN, I gave up! Now I realized that was stupid of me to give up on a profession I love and since my life is stable and "stress free" I want to take it again. But, I'm afraid I won't remember everything! Any suggestions? Any recommendations of tutors? Or any review seminars? I did the Kaplan in 2002 and I thought it was terrible!

Email Suzanne and get her study guide. It has worked well for a lot of people ;)

Specializes in Cardiac.

I agree, Saunders resembled the NCLEX the most for me. Suzanne's plan uses the Saunders book. You can do it. Just blame your past NCLEX failures on terrible weather. ;) Welcome to Arizona (a little delayed)!

Five times? I thought you only got 4 chances within 4 years. I geuss whomever told me that did not know what they were talking about.

Anyway, if I were you, I would take some type of refresher course, and a really good review class and then study my butt off. Then do about 100 practice questions a day for about 30 days, with more studying and reviewing. With hurstreview.com you have access to the review materials for 90 days.

If it is what you really want to do, DON'T give up. Persistence will pay off.

Good Luck!

It seems that everyone who has followed Suzanne4's program has passed. Don't give up. You worked too hard to get where you are.

Thank you all for your feedback! Just a couple more questions:

1. Who is this "Suzanne's Plan" and how do I contact her?

2. Do any of you know who I could contact for refresher courses? I moved out here to Arizona, but I don't know who to contact!!

Thank you again!! Kim

Each state board of nursing has its own rules on that one. In some places, four might be the magic number.
