6th time....I PASSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi! Just to let all of you know who are unsure of how or what to study to pass the NCLEX, do SUZANNE'S PLAN, which is at the top of this forum. Please trust me! I took this test 5 other times before passing and I have studied everything and everyway to study. I did every book, and I do mean every book, flashcards, tapes, online reviews, even went to Kaplan (and still failed). I studied alone and met with groups, even with other classmates. For some reason, none of those worked for me, which I would never understand since I did well in school. I will HONESTLY say that I graduated with a couple of people who were not so smart with books or clinicals and they passed their first time, so how do you think that made me feel? I quit studying after the 5th time, 4 years ago, giving up, telling myself that nursing was not for me. Yes, I had a lot of turmoil in my life, but still didn't understand why I couldn't pass the test, despite everything going on, because "I knew my stuff". Well, I started thinking about nursing again this past June. My life is stable, finally so happy, have a beautiful 10 month old daughter, and a husband who is probably the greatest man I have ever met (along with my dad). I didn't really decide to start studying until September. Nursing kept popping in my head and I finally told myself to start studying again. I found this website, which I truly think is a blessing, because I honestly don't know that I would have studied again if I wouldn't have found this. I read Suzannes posting, asked a couple of the other people who followed her plan if they would recommend it, and well, here I am today. I remember thinking how am I going to find time with my baby. But you know what, I found time, somehow, someway, and I tell you it all paid off. Nursing is what I want to do and I made it happen. This forum is a forum I will ALWAYS recommend for NCLEXer's to join. EVERYONE is so positive and so real! They have all been there. They will help you out in anyway they can. They listen! And trust me, with my whining, they still listened and guided me in the right direction, with the right preparation. As I started saying in the beginning how I have used every book in the past, well at least for me, they did not work. SUZANNE'S plan did. It isn't hard and doesn't take up your entire day. I probably did a couple hours of day, if that. Anyone who has questions on what book they should use or what would we recommend, I'm telling you from my past experiences, that Suzanne's plan is the only plan that works and she has her information posted at the top of the forum. Good luck everyone! It can be done!!!!!

6th time....I PASSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you again everyone!! I still feel like I'm in a dream. Anyway, to answer some of your questions, about Kaplan being like NCLEX, I say "yes, very much so". The questions are all short, but the answers are tricky. I studied when Ella would be taking her naps. She takes one in the morning and one in the afternoon. I probably studied a total of 2 hours a day, but I tried to do it everyday. I started studying September 12. I even flew back to Michigan in October and over Christmas and I still studied everyday, even if I only did 20 questions. Do what works best for you. EVERYONE can pass. Just give it your all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

6th time....I PASSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you everyone! I did Suzanne's plan! It took me about 3 months to complete the book and then I did the Cd. The last month I started to questions from my Kaplan CD that I had from when I took the course years ago. The last week I used a Kaplan book that this "angel" sent me. It was hard to always find time due to having a 10 month old and not having a babysitter. We're new here in AZ and all of our friends and family are in Michigan, but I managaed to do because I PASSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's finally MY turn to say...
AWESOME!!!! Isn't it the greatest feeling ever? Congratulations!!!!!:roll

Do I really need a $500 Kaplan class?
You probably don't need it and as long as you study a lot, you will more than likely pass. But, if you already paid for the class or have money set aside for it, I would do it! What happens IF you don't pass? Then you will be so mad that you didn't take the class. But, if you didn't invest in it yet, then don't...it was meant to be that way! Use your own judgement. You will ONLY know. We all have our different opionions on this, so I don't want to say "do what we say" (I have failed 5x's). Good Luck and make sure you keep us posted on what you do and HOW YOU DO!

Took 6th time today...I KNOW I failed!
I will find out tomorrow morning! What would you all suggest if I do fail? Would you say that I still continue to try, after 6 years, for a 7th time? Or just realize that maybe there is something better for me out there?

Took 6th time today...I KNOW I failed!
Hi "Exitthedragon"! But do you remember if you got your last one wrong? And, did it seem like they were all really hard? I always here most people that say they think they failed was due to how hard the questions were. Honestly, the questions I was getting didn't seem too hard, it just happened to be that I didn't know them. I had so many "who would you see first, call first, treat first", but they did not seem hard. This sucks! I always think that people think they failed because their questions were so hard, but mine weren't hard. They just happened to be on stuff that I forgot..............................oh, sooooo mad!!!!!!!

Took 6th time today...I KNOW I failed!
Now wait....I just found another site that states that my answer could be right!! Gosh, if I only could remember what the other choices said. I remember the first main word, but I don't remember the rest of the sentences. What do you all know about the "last question"? In all honesty!

Took 6th time today...I KNOW I failed!
Hey! I had I think 100 questions. Around 98 or so it asked me to take a break and I said no. 2 questions later it shuts off. But, I know I got the last question wrong because I looked it up. And, since I have taken this so many times I know how that works! I am so miserable right now. Yeah, I graduated 6 years ago, but I did Suzanne's plan, along with studying my butt off. Do you know how humiliating it is to be her first "failure". You probably are all thinking, "well, you don't know the results yet, so you don't know if you failed". But, when you are passed 75 and you do get your last question wrong, I have NEVER met nor heard of anyone that passed. My life is finally stable and I'm happy. I don't understand why God doesn't want me to be a nurse! I am so angry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Taking NCLEX on Wed for 6th time!!!
Wow, I can't believe I will be taking the test again tomorrow morning! I guess I am as ready as I can be. I am putting everything away, so I can just have a relaxing day. I have NEVER done that before. I have always studied until the day of. I always felt like there were some things that needed some more review. And of course, I have been doing that so far today. But I finally had this big urge to just STOP, relax, and make the day before a "free" day. Yes, I won't lie and tomorrow morning I will look over my labs and all the little tiny things, but that's it. I am going to spend time with my daughter, Ella who is 10 months and maybe go to Target, which I love that store, even just walking around! I've come to realize that studying these "couple more hours" is pointless. I know what I know and if for some evil reason I don't pass, I know it won't be because I took a break. But that won't happen! Please keep me in your prayers so I won't have to do this again a 7th time. I don't deserve that! Thank you ALL for all of your support and encouragement! You have definitely helped my confidence!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Taking NCLEX on Wed for 6th time!!!
Thank you for all of your support and prayers! I am trying to stay positive, upbeat, and motivated through this, but please tell me it's normal to have some doubt. Maybe I have the doubt due to the numerous times I have taken this beast, but I truly am trying very hard to stay focused on the positive side! Kim
