failed the nclex three times as of today

I am sick to my stomach!!! I just can't believe this... I need help and info on what I need to do to pass!! I feel like I am at a dead end.

What do you feel is your weakest point? Also...have you tried the KAPLAN review...?

I do not have a clue what my weakness is!! I did the Hurst review. My problem is that I live in Louisiana and only able to take this one more time and I can not afford to fail again. I need remedial, kaplan, something???

Suzanne4 has a wonderful program as far as passing the NCLEX, I have seen many people on this board who have passed after following her system. Send her a PM and she can probably help you- she's a wonderful person!

I would suggest Suzannes plan!!!!!!! Listen, I was out of school for 12 years this November and I started on her plan this past end of Feb beginning of March. I just took the nclex June 5th and passed. I have no doubt it works!!!!!!! (You have to follow it like she says though!!!) It is well worth it!

Figure out what you do not know; study what you need to, ad nausium. You will get it!

Hi! Do NOT give up! I failed 5 times and after the 5th time I gave up. The last time I took it was in 2003. But I've come to realize that EVERYTHING happens for a reason and although it's not what we wanted nor planned, life goes on! What did you use to study? How are you at taking tests? Have you had a lot of other "issues" going on in your life to distract you? You can and WILL pass! You made it through school! I believe in God, although I'm not active in church, but there is some reason he has it in his plans for us not passing at these times. I'm going to start studying again because I know nursing is my calling. Just don't give up because you will pass!!!!

This is the best web site for support!! Thanks ya'll. The problem with just retaking the nclex is that I live in Louisiana (new orleans to be exact) and can only take this test 4 times and that's it. I have already taken it 3 times and SCARED to take it again. Yes I do have distractions in my life with Katrina and being 9 months pregnant but I thought that I knew what I was doing??? I have done so many reviews, but no matter what, the questions ARE NOT the same type on the nclex???? HELP IS NEEDED!!!

I used Saunders and passed. This is the only book and cd I used to study.

The NCLEX is about critical thinking. You may know all your labs, disease processes, s/s, etc. BUT you need to know how to interpret all this data and apply it to real life situations.

Delegation and prioritization are huge: Which pt. would you call back first? Which dr. order which you implement first? Which order needs to be clarified? Start thinking in these sort of terms....

We all agree that nothing on the NCLEX is black and white. You need to learn how to narrow the answers down to two and picking the BEST one.

I'd try Saunders...which is what Suzanne's plan is based around.
