Don't worry.....try to relax at this time. Just go to mall or someone your close. You will feel better and may be after few days you will see charged to pass nclex again and you will study again.

Give yourself a couple of days to feel upset, then gather yourself together and get going again. Prepare as if you had never tested before. Do not be tempted to skip over anything. Study all of it, and don't make your appointment too fast. Give yourself enough time, even if you decide you need three or four months to cover everything.

I failed the NCLEX twice. The first time I didnt study at all. The second time I used Lippincott. The third time I made some adjustments in my life and taken Kaplan. I followed Kaplan instructions all the way through. I felt Kaplan helped me the third time. I used Kaplan live and online session. I can relate to you but please dont give up. You gotten to far in the profession. I agree with the above posts. Take it one day at a time.

From what I am hearing failing 1-2 times is the norm in 2010. The current NCLEX is a grave disappointment to the trend that Nursing has taken. Shame on the State Board of Licensing. They are doing a grave dsrvc. to the profession of Nursing but most of all to patient care & safety. The current testing is ridiculous, boarders on diagnostic( listening to heart & breath sounds...really?really?) rather than testing knowledge.

I was the last class to take it divided into sections over a 2 day period back in 1981. Believe me it was no picnic, but I felt they did an excellent job in testing our knowledge. Out of a graduating class of 38, only 1 of my classmates did not pass 1 section, she passed all others except 1. That was the only section she had to repeat. Think about that, only 1 GN out of 38 did not pass 1 section! The Hospital I am currently affiliated with has at least a 6-7 fail rate of 33 students for the 2010exam. These students were in the top of their class. This curent testing IMO fails to adequately test any base as it is to broad, scatterd and mostly schizophrenic. I cannot believe how they section it, and it is more trying to figure out the strategy to pass than to test true knowledge to adequately take care of patients!

SHAME ON THE BOARD OF LICENSING THAT USHERED THIS IN THIS FORM OF TESTING! It is not a reflection on the Students or the School of Nursing they are affliated with. It is a reflection on the Board of Licensing, that has failed our Profession. You hang in there, all of you. We need good nurses! Soon enough I will be hanging up my stethascope, I hope that our profession sees the need for top quality nurses and not ones that can figure out how to pass a test!

I know it's heartbreaking. I failed my NCLEX as well, my first time. Just take a few days off to relax. Then after all the pain is gone, go get that drive again. Tell yourself you're going to be a nurse. You may have failed it twice. Think about what you may have/ have not done during the NCLEX exam. Focus on your weakest areas. Try a different study habit and approach in taking the exam. I just found out I failed on Friday, but now I'm startin to review over and over again. Yes, it sucks having to have that feeling of studying long hours again, but it's gonna be worth it in the end. Just be positive and pray. You're definitely not alone and as you can see here, alot have failed. Failure is not fatal :)
