Hi EVERYONE, this is my first time writing a thread. I just took my NCLEX-RN today and did the whole 265 questions! I am positive I failed because I did the PVT and asked me for my credit card information. I have been crying all day and night. I am planning to take a week off and try it again ofcourse!
I took Hurst Review and thought it was great it cleared things for me but I felt like I wasn't good at prioritizing questions at all! I did some questions from kaplan book, saunders and hurst Q-review. I was getting anywhere between 50s-70s on practice exams.
I am very discouraged and I know is the first night but is there anyone who failed with 265 and then passed? I dont know if I want to spend $500 with Kaplan. I know they send you an analysis so I was planning on reading that and just buying La Charity book that everyone talks about and continue with Kaplan questions.
I studied for like maybe 8-10hrs a day with breaks. I probably did too much and just forgot it all! I was very pressured and did not want to let any one down.
Please give me tips on how you were resilient to pass the second time after 265 on the 1st! I know God is with me and this will just make me appreciate my license that much more!
THank you all!

Sorry to hear about your experience. I passed the NCLEX recently I all I did was practice questions. I did about 250-300 questions a day from NCLEX4000, HESI, and the NSBCN website. They are cheaper than the kaplan course. Practice taking those style of questions. Read the rationale whether you got it right or wrong. I also used the Lippincott book. I did this method plus several of my classmates and we all passed the first time. Getting familiar with their style of questions is key. Take a breather then try again. You made it through nursing school you will make it pass the NCLEX
Thank you for your reply. I just feel like if I failed maybe i need content? i just dont know! I definitely need this week to calm down (since i just took it today) because im so upset.

Hello Fella,
Do not be discouraged, you are not the only one who felt this way, i failed my NCLEX-RN when i first took it, then i focus and tried to understand where's my weakness are.
My advice is, you don't need to spend too much money on your review, because there are only 3 way to pass the exam, FOCUS, REMEMBER YOUR ABC AND PRIORITIZE.
Believe in yourself, think positive, be healthy and do not over do it.
Keep trying.

Hey Im in the same situation, I failed with 265. Before I didnt do questions and basically didnt study. This time Im using Saunders for content review and doing questions everyday from La Charity, exam cram and the Kaplan Qtrainers I got from a poster here on allnurses. My exam is next week so Im super nervous but more prepared than before and I know its because of Saunders and doing questions.
I study for 2-4 hours a day and I seem to remember the info because I dont over do it. You have 1 1/2 month before you can retake it if your state is 45 days. Cut down your study time and dont over exhaust yourself. Good luck

Wait for the official results before you do some serious grieving, then after a couple of days, brush yourself off and get ready to get back in the ring. You can do this.
Thank you for your reply. I am planning to do purchse NCLEX 4000. Yes I know that I needed to perfect those priority questions!

That's exactly the plan Im going to do in addition adding NCLEX 4000. Please let me know. How it goes. I too feel that I needed to cut down on my study time bc I was over doing it and maybe thats why I drew a blank! Was the letter that they sent with the analysis helpful?

I HIGHLY recommend the LaCharity book.
The performance paper they sent isnt helpful for a person like me. I got near passing on everything. It doesnt tell you what type of questions to review or anything special. It says Disease provention=near passing. So I started brand new and studied everything.
