Failed Nclex RN 2nd time

Published

Failed nclex RN again and Iam just disgusted. I studied really hard and don't understand why I didn't pass. I really felt good this second time around. I want to be a nurse but Iam wondering is this a sign that it is not for me. Not sure where Iam going wrong, on all the topics it says I was near passing. How in the world can I pass this test??

I really appriciate if some one tell me about suzane's plan

The first tip of my program can be found at the top of the NCLEX Forum, and needs to be completed before I can help anyone further with their preparation for the exam.

And do be aware that if one is testing in the next few weeks, this will not work for you as the program takes a full 45 days to complete from when it is sent out.

Best of luck to those of you that still need to test.

Also moving this thread to the NCLEX Forum, since it no longer has anything to do with Graduate Nurse status, but the exam.

Thanks for your understanding on this.

Hi everybody. First time posting on this website. I just graduated from a bachelors nursing program in may 08 and I took my NCLEX-RN for the first time this wednesday. Found out yesterday that I failed. I am so disgusted with myself and on top of that I feel like a failure and a disappointment. I cried for hours and just couldnt understand "why"...I did Kaplan and I really don't feel like it helped at all. My computer stopped at 77 and I just didnt know what to do. I just dont understand if I was doing bad, why did it stop so early. Well, I already plan to get back up and take the test again in 45 days but i just don't know how to approach it or what to study from. Any ideas? how is the suzanne's plan?

Hello, I understand how you feel, I took the nclex 2 times and failed. I did have Kaplan when I took it the first time and when I failed I thought Kaplan isn't for everyone and it did nothing for me. Well that is true, however I did come to realize that it wasn't Kaplan I just didn't know my content well enough. With Kaplan you pretty much have to know your content to understand the rationals, therefore Hurst Review helped me to understand my content so when I finished reviewing my content over I went back to Kaplan and was able to understand everything it was telling me because I did a good review of content first. Kaplan is basically learning how to answer questions using strategy. Then I went back and did the whole question bank and reviewed the incorrect ones over and over. So maybe you need to start reviewing content first because if your computer shut down at 77 questions that means you were in the low level questions well before you even got to 75 questions. Remember the computer can't shut down until after 75 questions are answered. I know how you feel I cried for days and really came down on myself but remember you can do this and you didn't pass nursing school for nothing. Keep your head up and keep grinding until you finish what you started and that is becoming a Nurse. Good Luck!
