failed NCLEX in 75 questions

Nursing Students NCLEX

Hello everyone !

So I failed my NCLEX FIRST try. I used UWORLD and was scoring 43-56 percent on all my exams. I was selecting random 75 a day for about a month . So I took the assessment and scored a low chance but I Still went ahead and took the NCLEX since everyone said to not take UWORLD scores so seriously. So I took it and failed in 75 questions. Now I'm using UWORLD AGAIN , but this time around I broke it down into subcategories . I prepared a binder with all categories and subcategories and I AM WRITING DOWN ALL rationales when I'm wrong and writing things down that I DO NOT KNOW. I also have my labs down packed lol. I took one assessment so far and scored high chance of passing and my scores have either hit the average mark or HIGHER (58-68%). my question is has anyone else used UWORLD again for the second time around and passed? My scores are higher this time around by a lot and its not because I'm memorizing because I'm actually sitting here really analayzing the question and using "ABC"s before answering.

if you have the discipline and motivation, i would keep studying. your scores will come up slowly, when you are ready, you will pass. if you take the test, you will need to be having a good day to pass. if you pass, all is well. if you don't, you will have the motivation to try harder. i would exercise discipline, and bring your scores up first. just need some more time. the scores are encouraging, it will happen.

I was doing some Uworld before my first attempt at NCLEX, and failed. Not at all knocking it, because I think it is excellent, but what put me over the top no doubt was a three day Kaplan refresher. I would HIGHLY recommend!!!

I did Kaplan but have stuck to hurst. My last 4 simulator scores are 66/125 71/125 67/125 and 77/125 . I’m hoping to take nclex soon . I don’t know what else to do at this point . These questions are driving me nuts ?

You are very close. Did you do the in-person kaplan? I felt the same way sometimes, about the questions driving me nuts. For me it was the karma of procrastination and trying to fake my way through the material while in nursing school coming back to bite me. I had to pay the piper and suffer through the questions as well. Those questions are the foundation for the test. Do not try to memorize a question and answer, but review the material and rationale behind the question. A question on something can be asked 5000 different ways, slight variations in wording can necessitate choosing a different answer. Watching my scores on the questions was similar to watching a decent stock's performance on a graph over the medium to long term. The progress was going up and down, but in the big picture, it was rising slowly. I cannot emphasize strategy enough, no one knows all of the content. I previously really thought i knew strategy, but after putting the strategy that i did know into practice, i realized i was falling short. that is where kaplan really helped. people that have failed that have used kaplan say it did not work for them, but take that mindset with a grain of salt. know all of their strategies completely, you will see a marked increase in the number of answers you will get correct. Do all of the questions in the kaplan bank. Do not back off in your study efforts. Focus on your diet, rest, and mild exercise.

I took the exam today and after Completing my exam receiving the Email they send after I checked Pearson website and did the PVT trick . So far it’s the good pop up “our records indicate you have recently scheduled this exam “ .... I’m hoping this is accurate because I feel like throwing up . Did anyone else do the Pearson trick right after their exam ?

You have passed! Congrats!!!

on my first take, I got the bad popup--there is a problem with the card information/card declined (as I had changed the card expiry number so that I would not be charged) but Pearson wanted to charge me because I had not passed. The second time around I got the good popup like you. ? again CONGRATS!!!

Ah thanks Mike !!! I still won’t let myself get too excited until I see final results . That test was brutal . I’m still nervous but this has def calmed my nerves a bit ?

during my final semester at nursing school I was asking each nurse what they use to pass exam many was using uworld a few failed on 1st try, many re-use uworld and pass

I just realized that the card I been doing the PVT trick is maxed out ( I have no funds in it ) i been putting in all the correct info except the expiration just how everyone says to do . I still been getting the good pop up . Does that make a difference. I’m so upset now thinking I failed ?

I wish I would get good pop up like you are

I don’t know how accurate this is and besides the card I used is maxed . So idk if that makes a difference . I’m praying it’s accurate
