Hello, I am writing this with a heavy heart as i found out that i may have failed Nclex the second time. I did the pearsonvue trick and it took my $200 so i did not get the good pop. I am thinking of doing the hurst review and kaplan but am not financial able to to because I just had a baby and i had to spent so much money out of pocket because my insurance would not cover most of the hospital bill. I was wondering if there is anyone out there that has taken any nclex prep that can help me, I would appreciate any help i can get, from study materials to study schedule. Also I would appreciate if anyone that has taken hurst review, kaplan etc can email me at [email protected]. I am at a cross road and i need help!!! Thanks
i took virtual ati as well . we took two ati exit before in dec. i got 71 & 91 % chance of passing. however, this past week, i did the virutal ati predictor and did horrible. any advice?
Contact your proctor/tutor at VATI. That is their whole purpose to review your predictor and coach you in your weak areas to move forward to getting the green light to take the NCLEX. You are paying for VATI why not use it?
Hey ang1, this was my second time around and I did pass. I found out sat. What I did differently was I did a lot of questions and what I didn't understand I googled it. Plus, I had my Saunders which I read from front to back plus their questions in the book and online. I also practiced the pearsonvue questions, as well as the Mighty nurse practice questions. Let's just say I had no life till now. Lol I had a plan of what chapters I was doing for the week all the way till the week before the test. While I was at work, I had a free app on my phone which I did practice questions on and I brought my Saunders with me and studied on my lunch break...not to mention my lab flashcards that I did. I was not playing this time. LOL. The week before the exam I was done with my book and I just did questions and looked up what I didn't understand. The day of the exam, I put my PN pin on(which became my lucky pin) and I went to Panera Bread and had something light and refreshing to eat, and my coffee plus water. I looked over a few things. Then I got to the place of my exam and was ready, even though I was having heart palpitations. I took the earplugs that they offer and did a quick prayer, next thing I know it shuts off around 80 something. I took my time reading and pretended that I was doing 10 questions at a time like I did with my app on my phone that way I wasn't overwhelmed or to stressed out. Just try to stay positive. Heck, I even had notes on my mirror saying, "I will Pass my NCLEX." Lol. You got this.
Hey quietriot, CNA, I did the PVT but I used a visa gift card that had nothing on it. I guess from my understanding you check the first day which is your first results and then you check in 24hrs again and see if you get the good pop up again and if you do that means you passed. It worked for me. I would never take that chance of losing $200. If I didn't get the good pop up it just would of said that I had insufficient funds or something which also would of meant that I didn't pass.

Stay encouraged and dont give up.I was a repeat test taker and finally passed and now have RN added to my name.I went the cheaper route and used the NCSBN review. It is only $50 for the 3 week review. This helped me a lot during my NCLEX and boosted my confidence that I would pass and I did!!I also used PDA by Lacharity. These 2 reviews alone helped me pass.Keep studying dont give up!!!
Kimtxt93 for the month before the exam I read my Saunders and did the questions in the book and online questions that Saunders provided, plus questions on my phone, and additional questions on mighty nurse and pearsonvue. What I got wrong or didn't understand I googled it and read the rational. The week before the exam I finished reading the whole book so I just did more online Saunders practice questions and Pearsonvue. I also studied at work on my breaks which I also read and/or did questions on my phone. It's just time management. Before I submitted everything I needed to take the exam, I made a plan of what I needed to do differently, and what areas I lacked in the most. I needed to strengthen those areas. I also told everyone that I'm MIA for a time being till March 12th(which was the day of my exam). Then I pressed submit and I studied from that day on. Not one day passed where I didn't study for the exam. Perseverance, sacrifice, time management, studying, and keeping a positive attitude through it all helped me a lot. Not to mention the wonderful people in my life who kept pushing and motivating me. This was just the way I did it. But I guess it worked for me cause it shut off around 80 something (I wasn't paying attention at the moment where I was at) and next thing I know I passed.
Thats awesome FaithinJesus, congratulations on passing the nclex and thank you for the encourage. You give me hope because sometimes i feel like to pass this test I have to enroll on some program like kaplan which i cannot afforfd. Its feels good to know that there are people like u who have passed using the cheaper route.
