Failed Nclex, not a good feeling

Nursing Students NCLEX

Hey everyone! 😁This is my very first post.

Took my exam on Monday and went through 265 questions. I felt confident because I was doing so well in Kaplan, around %65-%80 on qbanks. But I felt horrible after the exam, couldn't even drive. I tried the PVT trick and it lead me to the receipt page, I re-registered. It was the worse feeling!!! After that I didn't even want to view my quick results because I dislike the word FAIL. I still gave it a try and it just reconfirmed me failing.

Anyways, I always read here about people doing the PVT and having the good pop up, not enough about people who went through it and go to the receipt page.

After that I renewed Kaplan and I will purchase NCSBN's LearningExt or whatever it's called. Will go over content for sure. I also plan on buying LaChairty's PDA book.

Now I'm just waiting to schedule another exam day.

Is there anything else I should be doing but missing??????? If I am please please let me know, would soooo appreciate it.

If you graduated less than 6 months ago from an accredited US program and meet the other criteria contact Kaplan re: their guarantee

I did contact them, but I wanted to renew it rather then getting my money back. I need to review questions, it will be helpful. I did realize a few questions I found on Kaplan to be on Nclex(similar)

I thought it was free repeat or money back guarantee.

Check out the free NCLEX-RN prep videos on khan academy to see if it fills in the gaps.

Are you certain you failed or are you just basing this on the registration glitch commonly referred to as the pvt? What state? Some post results faster then quick results (PA is one).

If you did fail, wait for the CPR that comes via mail from your BoN to see which domains you need to focus on moving forward, as you need to be above the passing standard in all domains

I haven't looked at Khan but have heard good things for a free review. Hurst is good for content whereas Kaplan is good for test taking strategies.

LearningNext works for many but you can use too many resources.

Will Kaplan review your candidate performance report and help you develop a targeted study plan? If not, your school has a vested interest in you passing so contact your nursing department for help moving forward.

I did both, PVT and quick results. I am from PA.

I just hope I am not below on most in the CPR!!

That's s good idea, maybe my school nursing advisor can help me once I get my CPR.

I plan on using Kaplan for the questions and online content review. Is that good? To me it sounds ok, just as long as I follow through and not fall back.

Ive never heard of Hurst, or Khan. But will deff look into.

Hopefully you did better than you think. While I didn't fail the NCLEX I know what it feels to work so hard for something and be let down with such devastating disappointing news.

Take a breath. I'd hold off buying additional material just yet, wait for the report. Know that the odds of being below in all areas are extremely low. You would have been statistically cut off way before getting to 265.

Do something nice for yourself. Relax. Regroup.

Try Khan-can't beat free! Wait for tote CPR and then create a targeted plan for success. Move forward and cross the finish line.

Hi OP,

I also found out that I failed today. Would you be interested in brainstorming some retaking learning methods with me?

I have taken this twice . Did Kaplan and scoring 70's even 80's at times. Then for second round did sounders and did worst than second time 😩.

Dyx, the only retaking strategy I can think of is reviewing, and doing questions. :/

Did you happen to follow through with your CPR? Did you focus on what you were scoring low on? I'm just curious because I want to know what to do second time. I haven't received my report yet. But I plan on following through. This time I will work hard and get it. I hope the same for you!! Good luck.
